Please be sure to note the routes to the Sternwheel and Old West Festivals. 7-9 September OHIO RIVER STERNWHEEL FESTIVAL MARIETTA September OLD WEST FESTIVAL WILLIAMSBURG From the Sternwheel Festival Web site: Official Sternwheel [Festival] parking is available on Friday and Saturday only and is located on Second Street, between Greene Street and Butler Street. Cost is $5.00. Handicap parking is also available at the CNAC lot (formerly the JD Byrider dealership), 200 Greene Street, and is free of charge. NOTE: Second Street is one block southeast of Ohio Route 60 / Third Street. To the Old West Festival: following Ohio Route 32 East from the FMCA Campgrounds, go past the towns of Batavia and Williamsburg, and turn right on Dela Palma Road. Head Southwest to Cobb Road at the first left turn. The festival venue is just under 1.5 miles on the left. 2 Volume 19 Issue 6 Page 2 A Message From The Chapter President The Sauder village was attended by Toohigs, Shermans, Nesbitts, Carrs, Czechs & Gasts with the Edgars joining us for supper on Wednesday evening. Weather was good except for some rain on Thursday, The next rally is September 7,8 & 9, 2018 in Marietta Ohio with the Stern wheel Festival. At this time we have seven coaches going and one campsite left. This is a very popular festival and campsites were hard to come by. The chapter paid for it in advance with the hopes that more would want it. If you do let me know ASAP. First come first served. This rally will also be the election of new officers. The slate is as follows: Carol Toohig, President Denny Edgar, Vice President Butch Sherman, Treasurer Mary Alice Gast, Sectary Ernie Howard, National Director. No one has stepped up for the Alternate National Director. The next rally will be in Cincinnati, Ohio at the FMCA campground on Round Bottom Rd. See the Old West Festival information in this Scope. 3 Volume 19 Issue 6 Page 3 FMCA CONVENTION REPORT Because of the National Director Briefing and Workshop held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 the Governing Board Meeting held Wednesday was very productive and decisions were made. The 4 National Board members and the Executive Director gave all attendees thorough reports. The total membership number is increasing and the changes recommended were voted on quickly and effectively: the organization is in strong hands. As members we will continue to enjoy all the current benefits without a dues increase. For the first time the meeting was adjourned at lunch. I wish to thank Ohio Nomads for placing their confidence in me as the Temporary Alternate National Director. While making the trip to Gillette Roger and I were also getting our recently acquired land set up and will be parking it at Meigs County, Ohio. We have made wonderful friends and memories but health reasons have made it necessary for us to settle close to home. Safe travels to each of you and hope our paths cross again.
