CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. in the Media Center of the Marsh School, with the president, Dr. Grites presiding. B. FLAG SALUTE C. SUNSHINE LAW Dr. Grites announced that the meeting was being held in compliance with the "Sunshine Law", in that a notice was posted with the City Clerk and the newspapers were notified. Dr. Grites announced that a mechanical device would be used to record these proceedings. D. Rehire - Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, motion to rehire Alexandria Echevarria as an Elementary Instructional Assistant, effective September 1,, for the school year. 3. New Hires: a. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, motion to approve the hiring of Maria MacDonald, School Attendance Officer, effective September 1, at an annual stipend of $4,500 for the school year. The training is recommended to take place on September 4, and September 5, for 2.5 hours per day, for up to 5 additional hours of pay at $10 per hour. 15. Mentors - Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, motion to approve the Sherri Liepe as a mentor for the school year. 16. Substitute Nurse - Staffing Services - Motion to approve the agreement with Professional Medical Staffing, LLC to provide substitute nursing services for the school years, as follow: RN Substitute $49 / hour LPN $43 / hour 15. Lease Purchase of Truck with Plow - Motion to approve the purchase of a 2019 Chevrolet double cab 2500 truck (quote-dated 6/25/) from Mall Chevrolet at a cost of $30,500 and a snowplow from Laurel Lawn mower at a cost of $4,795. Purchase to be made through approved lease purchase transaction. 16. Reimbursement - Motion to approve mileage reimbursement of.31 cents per mile for regular school district business travel for in-state county meetings provided free of charge and in-state professional development activities for which registration fee does not exceed $150 per employee or board of education member up to a maximum of $1,500 per person. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mr. Cottrell moved to adopt the following resolution at 8:00 pm: BE IT RESOLVED by the Absecon Board of Education that, pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-1 et seq.) it shall enter into Executive Session to discuss, potential litigation and other matters of attorney client privilege. The information discussed can be disclosed to the public only upon formal written request to the board secretary at the next work, special or regular meeting to determine if the time and circumstances would be appropriate to disclose the information discussed. At the conclusion of this session the Board of Education will reconvene the regular portion of the meeting and action may, or may not, be taken. On a motion by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Ms. Law, and unanimously carried by a voice vote, the Executive Session was declared closed at 8:30 pm. 17. High School Feasibility Study - RESOLVED that the Board hereby authorize special counsel Porzio Bromberg & Newman, PC, to proceed with a feasibility study examining existing and potential sending-receiving options for the education of Absecon high school students, for an amount not to exceed $52,500. Mr. Cottrell moved to approve items Preschool Education Expansion Aid Motion to accept the Preschool Education Expansion Aid grant (PEEA) in the amount of $188,730 for the school year. 19. ESEA FY19 Grant Application/Award Motion to approve the resubmission of the ESEA FY19 grant to include the Title I SIA Part A award as follows: Title I $222,825 Title I SIA $ 13,400 Title IIA $ 34,834 Title III $ 11,096 Title IV $ 13,392

SECRETARY S REPORT - Mr. Cottrell moved to acknowledge the receipt of the Secretary s Report for July, which is in agreement. Mr. Rynkiewicz, Absent. 3. BOARD SECRETARY MONTHLY CERTIFICATION Mr. Cottrell moved, that after review and pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6: (e), the Absecon Board of Education certifies that as July 31,, after review of the Secretary s and Treasurer s Monthly Financial Reports (Revenue and Appropriation Sections), and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials that, to the best of our knowledge, no Major account or fund has been expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23A (b), and there have been no changes in anticipated revenue sources and/or amounts so that sufficient funds are available to meet the district s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. 4. TRANSFERS Mr. Cottrell moved to ratify July transfers. 5.
