Chair s announcements The Coordinators: heard the Chair inform about a request by the EuroNest Chair, Ms Rebecca HARMS, for an intensified collaboration especially as regards cultural diplomacy and youth initiatives, and entrusted the Chair to inform Ms HARMS about the readiness of CULT to honour that request and to ask for additional information on the concrete form of the envisaged collaboration; heard the Chair report about the latest decisions of the CoP as regards parliamentary own-initiative reports (INIs) for the remainder of the legislature, with 11 April 2018 set as the deadline to request new INIs at the level of the CCC, and the confirmation of the CCC Chair for CULT to be allowed two introduce two additional INI requests despite the fact that free slots for INIs will only be available by the end of April; decided to request INIs on the following topics: Digital Skills and European Agenda for Culture ; heard the Chair report about a recent meeting with Commission Vice- President Frans TIMMERMANS on the future EU funding programmes, in which the Chair had seized the opportunity to recall CULT s priorities as regards the programmes within the remit of the Committee; heard the Chair inform about a planned high-level conference on European Cultural Heritage under the aegis of EP President Antonio TAJANI, provisionally scheduled to take place on 16 May 2018 at the occasion of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 with CULT being actively involved, and endorsed the preliminary draft programme with the proviso to aim for a more interactive format, e.g., by reducing the number of speakers and exploring the possibility of artistic life performances forming part of the programme; heard the Chair report about a recent meeting with the two directors of ARTE, and entrusted the Chair to explore the possibility of visiting the ARTE Headquarter in STR during one of the next Plenary sessions. 2. CULT Public hearings during 2nd half of 2018 The Coordinators decided to organise the following two CULT Public Hearings in the second half of 2018: o Digital Skills (combining the proposals of EPP, S&D and Greens/EFA) o European Agenda for Culture (combining the proposals of S&D and ALDE) PV\ docx 13/17 PE v01-00

14 3. CULT Mission to Lisbon, Portugal, 4-6 April 2018 The Coordinators approved the preliminary draft programme and the list of participants for the CULT mission to Lisbon, Portugal. 4. CULT Mission to Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, 6-8 May 2018 Decisions: The Coordinators approved the preliminary draft programme and the list of participants for the CULT mission to Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. The Coordinators took note of the fact that only four CULT Members have subscribed to the mission so far, and of the Chair s urgent request for more Members considering to sign up in order to assure that the mission can take place as planned. 5. LUX Prize: Selection Panel The Coordinators approved the LUX Prize Selection Panel for 2018 as suggested by DG COMM, yet expressing the need for considering a potential revision of the current nomination procedure. 6. EP Presidency of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean The Coordinators decided for CULT to take active part in the forthcoming EP Presidency of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean, and to postpone the decision on which activities to get concretely involved until more information on the programme for the Presidency is available. Conferences organised by Pre-Accession Actions Unit/DG EXPO: Invitations to CULT Members a) Conference on Upholding the freedom of expression, including media freedom, in the EU and beyond for MPs of enlargement countries, 15 June 2018 The Coordinators endorsed the deadline of Friday, 20 April 2018, 12:00, for the political groups to send the names of Members wishing to participate in this event organised in Prague on 15 June 2018 to the CULT Secretariat. b) Inter-parliamentary colloquium on EU cultural policy in 2019 The Coordinators endorsed the deadline of Friday, 20 April 2018, 12:00, for the political groups to send the names of Members wishing to participate in a parliamentary colloquium on European cultural policy, forming part of the 2019 edition of the Balkan Trafik Festival in BOZAR scheduled for March or April 2019, to the CULT Secretariat. 8. Motion for a resolution, Petitions and Miscellaneous reports and communications The Coordinators took note of the following Motions for a resolution, Petitions and Miscellaneous reports and communications received for information, deciding not to take any action at this stage.
