Exchange of views with the Commission on the Europe for Citizens Programme The Coordinators: heard Ms Marta CYGAN, Director at DG HOME responsible for the Europe for Citizens Programme, report about the implementation and existing challenges of the Programme, including its underfinancing, as well as the Commission s plans for its future. 2. Proposals for new STOA projects of benefit to committees Decisions: The Coordinators agreed with the suggested procedure of the political groups making proposals for new STOA studies, using the specific STOA form available to that purpose, with a view for the Coordinators to take a decision in their meeting on 4 December The Coordinators agreed on the deadline of 29 November 2017, 12:00, for the political groups submitting STOA project proposals to the CULT Secretariat (CULT Secretariat mailbox). 3. Referrals Legislative Referrals 3.1. Amended proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on certain aspects concerning contracts for the sales of goods, amending Regulation (EC) No 2006/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Directive 2009/22/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Directive 1999/44/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council COM(2017)0637, SWD(2017) /0288(COD) Decision: The Coordinators agreed with the proposal not to draw up an opinion. Strengthening economic, social and territorial cohesion in the European Union: the 7th report of the European Commission - INI report by REGI COM(2017)0583, SWD(2017)0330 Decisions: The Coordinators decided to draw up a non-legislative opinion pursuant to Rule 53 (for 0.5 points). The Coordinators decided to attribute rapporteurship to the ALDE Group. 4. Chair s announcements The Coordinators: heard the Chair report about the ongoing negotiations between the European Parliament and Commissioner Mariya GABRIEL on the future of the LUX Film Prize; heard the Chair inform about a planned Oral Question by ITRE on industrial policies, with cultural and creative industries (CCI) being tackled as well; heard the Chair inform about her reply to a letter by the Hungarian Students Union on the status of Hungarian as minority language in Ukraine and Serbia; heard the Chair report about a letter of the Transcarpathian Association of Hungarian Pedagogues in Ukraine (TAHP), taking up the issue of Hungarian as a minority language in Ukraine, and agreed on her proposal to prepare a reply on behalf of CULT along the lines of the reply to the Hungarian Students Union; heard the Chair inform about the recent agreement between Council and EP on the 2018 EU budget. CULT Public hearings in the first half of 2018: Selection of experts Decision: The Coordinators decided to postpone the decision on the experts to be invited for the two planned CULT Public Hearings in the first half of 2018 until their next meeting and to prolong the deadline for proposals (including a brief justification and a CV) until 29 November at 12: CULT Missions in 2018 Decisions: The Coordinators took note of the political groups nominations for CULT Members planning to participate in the 5 CULT missions foreseen in 2018, including one out-of-quota mission to San Francisco/Silicon Valley requiring special authorisation. The Coordinators heard the Chair urge additional CULT Members declaring interest to take part in the planned CULT Mission to Leeuwarden, European Capital of Culture 2018, given the lack of nominations so far, in order for the mission to become possible. 7.
