Concerned about the skyrocketing cost of assisted living? Having used a wheelchair for over 20 years, Rosemarie Rossetti, Ph.D. passionately shares her personal story of recovery after a spinal cord injury. An internationally known expert on universal design, Rossetti explores the must-know design features that deliver the quality of life -- and safe, secure lifestyle -- you desire and deserve. Using her own Universal Design Living Laboratory national demonstration home and garden, Rossetti will showcase the home features designed for convenience, flexibility, accessibility, safety, and independence. 4 Notes from the Editor If you have aging parents, friends that are confined to a wheelchair or power mobility devise, please invite them to our meeting this week. Rosemarie Rosetti will have a powerful presentation on how to live comfortably in that situation. I have been to her specially built home in Gahanna and herd her presentation first hand on site complete with a tour of the entire home. She and her husband,mark Leder, have all the features displayed to see how this technology can impact your quality of life. This is a special program that you will not want to miss! Our new Theme, People of Action, Join Leaders, Exchange Ideas and Take Action!

5 ipp Lisa Janszen announced that the 100 Women of Westerville decided to donate their meeting collections to Star House which may add up to thousands of dollars. Treasurer, Dave Coffman announced that members that have not yet paid their dues must remember that to take the on time payment discount of $30.00, it must be received by no later than July 31 st. Ellen Cathers is looking for Rotarians to help with the next 4 th Friday Event on July 27 th. Please let her know if you can work a shift. 8 Sharon Bay, a member of the Downtown Breakfast Rotary Club of San Diego, California, USA, and her husband have hosted talented young musicians from other countries for the past four years. Part of District 5340's MusiCamp, a short-term youth exchange, the program allows students to experience new cultures and make new friends while planting the seeds for greater international understanding. READ MORE E-club of nomads builds connections Spread out across thousands of square miles in eastern states of Australia, members of the Rotary E-Club of Australia Nomads fire up laptops, tablets, and smartphones and log on to weekly club meetings from their RVs using a teleconferencing app. Members map routes for the jamborees, service projects, and fundraising they plan to do with their club. READ MORE Announcements How to host a Rotary Day In an effort to increase membership and highlight Rotary s inspiring work, RI President Barry Rassin is urging clubs and districts to organize fun, informal community events called Rotary Days. Any club, big or small, can host a Rotary Day. Neighboring clubs can pool their resources and co-host an event, and entire districts can come together for a large-scale Rotary Day.
