At our special night meeting last week.. Happy 113 th Birthday to Rotary International!
This is worth repeating as the General says, This is FISH WEEK and don t forget it!! The General is still here and not going anywhere until you sell all of your tickets! General Pisces made his annual visit to our club this past week and he was not in a great mood! He was a little miffed that some Rotarians are holding on to their Fish Fry tickets and not selling them! He also stated that he has heard some rumbling about bad words related to selling tickets. His answer to that was DAMN IT! I don t want to hear any excuses he stated! Work assignment sheets for you to sign up have been ed directly to you. Please bring the sheet with you to our meeting this week at Villa Milano. Chairman, Eric Gibson will be collecting and giving you your work assignment for next Sunday.
.. AND MAY THE BE WITH YOU UNTIL SUNDAY AND THEN WE WILL SELL IT AND EAT IT! The General also says, see article below on how to donate your tickets to the Harris-Askins House and/or WARM. Rotary February Birthdays
February Birthdays Charles Vonder-Embse, Feb 3 rd Steve Malik, Feb. 11 th Rick Vilardo, Feb. 15 th Dan Leonard, Feb. 20 th Jim Meacham, Feb. 23 rd If your birthday is in the month listed above please let us know. Our records come from our own District DACdb Database Information below is from your data on our own DACdb at How long have you been a Rotarian? Tom Blackburn, Feb 1 st 1990, 28 years Larry Shepherd, Feb 2 nd, 1989, 29 years Jack Moreland, Feb 7 th, 1980, 38 years Kirk Lawson, Feb 9 th, 1989, 29 years Rodney Peters, Feb 9 th, 2017, 1 years Bill Dolbier, Feb 12 th, 1976, 42 years Chris Butcher, Feb 23 rd, 2012, 6 years George (Bud) Hoffman, Feb 27 th, 2003, 15 years
From the Editor: New member Amy Jordan has been approved for membership in our club by the membership committee and the board. Amy owns the Fred Adair Dance Studio in Westerville and is sponsored by Patricia Hughes. This is the first publication in the Rotogram of the required two. Any objections or concerns on this proposed member should be directed to the Secretary. This is the week that we get ourselves ready to shine in our community as we prepare for the 50 th Annual Fish Fry! This is personally my favorite fund raiser that we do since we all get to work side-by-side, elbow-toelbow and all get to go home smelling like a fish! Seriously, it is a great fun day so don t miss it! Chairman, Eric Gibson sent each of us a work session form via last week. Please remember to bring that with you this week to our meeting. If you are not planning to be at the meeting this week you can also it to him or simply put it in your mail box and send it to our address for the Rotary box, PO Box 595, Westerville, Ohio I will make sure that he gets it on time. You can reach Eric by phone at or egibson@otterbein.edu See the article just below my editorial for information on how you can donate your tickets to WARM clients and/or our own residents at the Harris-Askins House. All new members that have joined since our last Fish Fry are assigned automatically to the dish room. Don t worry, it is not as messy as it used to be since most of the plates and utensils are disposable and yes, they do get recycled. Kristy Courtright will be there to show you all you need to know about the dish room and keep you dry! See you next Sunday and as the General says, May the Fish be with you!
FISH FRY TICKETS DONATE YOUR EXTRA TICKETS Extra Fish Fry Tickets may be donated to the WESTERVILLE RESOUCE MINISTRIES OR HARRIS-ASKINS HOUSE Contact Steve Brown regarding W.A.R.M. or Carol Groseclose in regards to H.A.H. You can also bring your extra tickets to this week s meeting and give them to Carol or Steve and they will make sure that they all get distrubited to everyone that needs them. Rotary Weekly is next
Rotary Weekly 23 February 2018 A roundup of Rotary news How is your club celebrating Rotary's anniversary? On 23 February, 1905, Paul P. Harris, Gustavus Loehr, Silvester Schiele, and Hiram E. Shorey gathered in Loehr s office in Room 711 of the Unity Building in downtown Chicago for what would become known as the first Rotary club meeting. This week, clubs worldwide are celebrating the organization's 113 years. View our photo gallery of club events, and let us know how you are marking the occasion. SEE THE GALLERY TOP NEWS Rotaract: 50 years of changing lives A half-century has passed since the first Rotaract clubs began inspiring young leaders to take action to improve their communities. The world has changed, as has the way Rotaract members connect with one another. But the underlying values of the program, and what attracts people to it, remain remarkably the same. To celebrate Rotaract s 50th anniversary, we asked former Rotaractors from six decades to share their experiences of the program and explain how it shaped their lives.
