1 Chief Okemos Sportsman s Club P. O. Box 375, Dimondale, Michigan or visit us on Facebook NEWSLETTER Vol. 29 No. 01 January 2016 President s Note Happy New Year! May the upcoming year bring you all you hope for. January is an important month for our Club. The January Membership Meeting is the election of new Officers and Board members. I have served my two year limit as President so we will be electing a new President along with Treasurer, Secretary, 1st Vice, 2nd Vice and four Board members. Please consider running for one of these positions or nominate someone who you think would be right for the job. It usually does not involve much more than a little time and planning. January 10th is our annual Gun Show. It s always a good time, and there are always some pretty good deals. I will be conducting a bake sale to help with Jr. and Ladies Trap. I am asking for baked goods for that sale. For more information, please call me at Every so often we find articles left on the range. If you are missing a spotting scope, please call me at December 19th was our Christmas Party. The food was fantastic and very abundant and lots of interesting conversation. I would like to thank the committee who put this together: Jim, Lois, Dawn & Jim, Jean and Gary. You did a great job. Thank you. Last I would like to thank the entire membership for all your help and support for the last two years. It s the members who make the Club; it is not the President. Keith Wright Nominations for Open Officer and Board Positions Current nominations for Officers are: President: Sharon Whaley 1st Vice: Ralph Batten 2nd Vice: Jim Hein Secretary: Jody LaClear Treasurer: Rosemary DiPonio
2 Current nominations for four (4) Board positions: Dennis Dann Andy Powers Dawn Hein Jerry Shihady Stuart Miller Duane Whaley These are the current names placed in nomination. However, any Class A member is eligible for these positions provided they have been a member in good standing for a minimum of three (3) years. Any member can nominate another eligible member, willing to fill one of these positions, or, if you are eligible, you can nominate yourself, from the floor on the night of the Elections. They will be held at the January 11, 2016 Membership Meeting at 7:30pm. COSC needs to hear your voice to fill these positions. Be sure to come and cast your nomination(s) and votes at this very important meeting. From Your Membership Committee Have you submitted your renewal application and dues for 2016 membership yet? If not, send in your renewal soon so you will continue to receive your Newsletter and get the new gate combination. Activities are already being planned for this year so you won t want to miss out!
