However, come early to meet with board members or get some dinner before the meeting starts. Our May Guest Speaker is Two time Oregon State Elk Calling Champion Jim Henderickson. Quarterly Gun Giveaway Starting with the April Chapter Meeting, OHA members 12 years of age and over, that attend our Chapter meeting, will receive one entry into the giveaway, per chapter meeting attended. The prize for this quarter is a Howa Creedmoor, it will be drawn at the June 20th Chapter Meeting. Our Next Any One Raffle Contact a board member to get tickets or come to an upcoming event or Chapter Meeting. If you win, then you have your choice of the following: Ruger AR-556 ($799), Springfield Armory XDM.45 ($659) or Legacy Pointer O/U 20 Ga. Shotgun ($674). 2 A Great Big THANK YOU to Brian Tindall from Gulch for being our April guest speaker. Brian grew up in Michigan and has always been interested in the outdoors as well as computer design. When Pixar came out with Toy Story he thought that was a place where he would like to work. Over the next five years he worked towards that goal and he was indeed hired by Pixar and worked there for 13 years. He learned many things, but one of the most important was lighting and how light bounces to grab the light in color and bounce it onto another object. While Brian loved working at Pixar, he did not like living in the crowded city and being so far from places to hunt or hike. He made the move to the Laika Studios in Hillsboro in Brian loves the area, all of the wonderful outdoor possibilities that abound here and in the Pacific Northwest. Brian s love for hunting had him thinking about how to use his knowledge of space and light to build a better camouflage product. Most manufactures use a mathematical algorithm, but Brian is using his knowledge learned while working in the animation studios, story telling, how to direct and deceive the eye to bring clothing products that adapt to the environment and doesn t blot out at a distance. Brian uses high quality fabrics, materials and applies digital sublimation printing and local businesses for his products. Brian doesn t need millions, but does want to build a sustainable income. He is essentially getting paid to hunt and he loves his work. Brian believes in radical transparency, which means that you can go to his website and see all of the relationships that he has cultivated with local businesses. It shows all of his suppliers and sources so you can see the margin he makes on his products. Brian says he noticed that they usually tell women who wear sizes 2-10 to purchase from the boys or small men s sizes, but he is tailoring items directly for women whose size is often neglected. Brian also made his face masks to hang freely at the bottom, which helps the air to escape and not fog up or hang funny for those that wear glasses. His Travis men s sizes Simpson s are small to coyote 2X. Go check him out.
