2 Three Forks Club Officers As of this newsletter s print deadline I haven t heard of who will be our new officers. Hopefully I will find out at the Christmas dinner and will be able to put it in next month s newsletter. I ve had the following in our last two issues and will run it one more time again. We will be taking nominations at the October Club Meeting for our elections which will be held at the Club Meeting in November. The following are descriptions of our officer s duties and club positions. The President runs the monthly Club and Board Meeting. The Vice President takes over when the President is absent and attends the Board Meetings. The Secretary keeps the notes at both of the meetings and sends them to the Newsletter Editor. The Treasurer manages all of the club s financial affairs. The Board members represent Club Members at the Board Meetings. They vote on club business, help plan activities, meetings, and events. Club Raffle Volunteers takes in donations, sells tickets, call numbers, and records the winners. Find of the Month Judges takes and record the entries. They announce and pass out the prizes. They also judge all of the entries (a tough job sometimes). The National Hunt Chairperson heads up the organization of the Hunt. Think about what position you want to hold in our club and let somebody know so that you will get nominated! 6 6 Do your part to help preserve our history! Please join us in working to clean up and restore this historic old cemetery that has been vandalized and neglected for many years. We will meet at the Pilot Station on U.S. 69 and Harris Road in Muskogee at 8:45 on December 15th. This will be our 4th season out at the Old Agency Cemetery. Please bring any equipment that you may have: loppers, metal blade weed eaters, chain saws, leaf blowers. Don t forget your gloves. Work time: 9-12:30. At lunch we will have a meeting to discuss upcoming cleanups. Afterwards we will hunt the pastures adjacent to the cemetery. We are currently seeking donations to purchase the west half of the Old Agency Cemetery. We also need fences, signs, equipment, and food money donations for future projects. For more information visit our website at: I need to remind everybody that the EOCPO has organized these cleanups to preserve cemeteries and the history associated with them so that future generations can appreciate them. These are also an excellent community service project for all of our clubs, a good public image project for our hobby, an individual good feeling of accomplishment toward giving back to history after taking from it all of these years, and good exercise. It also gives us the added bonus of getting our clubs into some good historical hunting spots. As always there is no guarantee that everybody will find something fantastic at every outing. We are out there to have fun.
