4 COMPUTER TIP: REVERT BACK TO WINDOWS 7 FROM WINDOWS 10 Don t like Windows 10? As long as you ve upgraded within the last month, you can uninstall Windows 10 and downgrade your PC back to its original Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 operating system. You can always reinstall it. If you ve upgraded a PC to Windows 10, and have not performed a clean install, but an upgrade, there is an easy option that lets you revert to the last version of Windows. To access this, open the Start Menu and select Settings. Click the Update & security icon and select Recovery. You should see a Go back to Windows 7 or Go back to Windows 8.1 option. Click the Get Started button to remove the Windows 10 install. This restores your previous Windows application. Microsoft will ask you why you want to go back. If it s been over a month, or if you ve run the disk cleanup tool and removed the Previous Windows installations files, or deleted the C:\Windows old folder by hand you ll no longer see the above option. Windows 10 appears to automatically remove the old Windows installation files after a month to free up space. To get back to an older version of Windows, you ll have to perform a clean install of Windows. Thankfully, Microsoft now offers easy downloads for Windows 7 and 8.1 ISO files. Download the Windows installation media and burn the ISO file to a disc or copy it to a USB drive using Microsoft s Windows USB/DVD download tool. You can then boot from it and reinstall Windows 7 or 8.1 fresh, telling it to overwrite the Windows 10 system already on your hard drive. Be sure you have backup copies of all your important files from your Windows 10 PC first. The number of coyotes is growing and city programs are being expanded. A trapping company has been hired and trapping has started in selected areas. Snare type traps are being used, instead of the cage traps we have been using at New Horizons. We have to much open space to use the more effective snare traps. We are also arranging a grounds inspection. The city will be giving us pointers on cutting back bushes to eliminate hiding places. 5 NEED A RIDE? Errands, Appointment, Shopping NH Owner/References Available Call TRAVEL NEWS We enjoyed the Swiss Park in Whittier where we attended the Swiss National Day celebration. August 1st celebrates the founding of Switzerland as a nation in Every year this anniversary pays tribute to the Swiss homeland and its traditions, sharing Swiss national pride with second, third and fourth generation families and American friends. It was a joyous occasion and one we will not soon forget. The way our members enjoy animals wild or tame brings me to explore a trip I wanted to do last year. The trip is entitled America s Teaching Zoo and the Gardens of the World. Won t you join us for a fascinating day in Ventura County? There will be an Exotic Animal Training and Management Program established at Moorpark College in The present animal collection is maintained on a five-acre facility on the Moorpark College campus called America s Teaching Zoo. This extraordinary collection includes exotic animals ranging from marmosets to an African lion, leopard geckos to alligators, and camels to emus. The zoo is currently home to a spotted hyena, a bald eagle, a mountain lion, red foxes, a wide variety of primates, birds, and many other exotic and endangered animals. Our visit to the teaching zoo will begin with a live animal show, followed by a guided tour of the facility. Our final stop of the day is a guided tour of the Gardens of the World, also in Thousand Oaks. Lunch will be on our own in Thousand Oaks. This unique garden is a striking monument to commemorate the various cultures of the world. The gardens include Italian, French, Japanese and English gardens as well as a California Mission Courtyard. We leave at 8:30 am on Tuesday, September 20, and return at 5:30 pm. Costs are: $47.00 per person for passengers, $57.00 for passengers, or $78.00 for Pg. 8 Labor Day Picnic plans are in the works! The Picnic Fun Club will be posting a volunteer sign-up sheet and also a table reservation sheet on the Bulletin Board in the Club House. Submitted by: Barbara Kerr, Picnic Fun Club, Chair Pg. 5
