1 December 2015 O C Vettes President s message Boy! Has 2015 gone fast. As I write this message another year has gone by. I must be getting old - time really flies. I would like to thank last year s board for making January through June a memorable time for OC Vettes. Since July we have accomplished a lot with our new board and committee chairs. We combined the Membership/NCCC position, as well as, a new website, club apparel, a great homecoming season, fun day trips, and great socials. I am happy to report that we have hosts for all socials for Your support is appreciated. Thanks to Richard and Carol Thompson for hosting our November social at Black Bear Diner. Also, a big thanks to Carol Thompson and Terri Kupper for their efforts and preparation for our Christmas party and Conda Takanabe for the decorations. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 will be our last social of the year hosted by Michael and Michelle Molendyk. Dinner at Knowlwood and the classic Christmas movie White Christmas. When you re considering your 2016 New Year s resolution think about participating in more club activities and taking a leadership role with OC Vettes. Thanks for everyone s support and assistance. On Wednesday, Dec 9 at 5:15, meet at the Knowlwood Restaurant on La Palma Ave. in Anaheim for dinner. Then we ll walk to the movie theater to see the 1954 movie classic, White Christmas. Ron is ordering movie tickets based on the signup sheet from the Dec 1 meeting. He ll hand out the tickets at Knowlwood, so bring $6 with you. If you did not sign up you can purchase tickets at the door. There is construction in the front parking lot of the theater, but you can park in the back parking structure or by Knowlwood. 3 Page 3 December 2015 O C Vettes Orange Pits Newsletter OCV November Social Report The November OCV Social was held on November 17 at the Black Bear Diner in Buena Park. Twenty-nine people attended. The OCV group had a private room in the outside patio. Black Bear Diner serves a variety of entrees, breakfast all day and lots of good all-american comfort food. Everyone enjoyed a night out to visit with fellow members. The event was hosted by Richard and Carol Thompson.
4 Page 4 December 2015 O C Vettes Orange Pits Newsletter Vettes for Veterans Car Show On Sunday, November 15, the annual Vettes for Veterans Car Show was held in Carlsbad at TGI Fridays. Richard and Carol Thompson led the OCV caravan down to Carlsbad. Despite the weather, the show had a good turnout. Seventeen OCV members took part. Vettes for Veterans Car Show is an all Corvette car show honoring San Diego area veterans. Funds go to veterans charities. The show was participants choice. Winners from OCV included Jerry and Jane Wheeler who won 2 nd for C4 and a $45 prize and George and Isabel Loveren who won first place for C7 and a $60 prize. Congrats!

If you have life or family events that you would like to share, please contact Nancy Ward. Janet Cherry has a cute new granddaughter and future OCV member. Welcome Genesis Elizabeth! Celebrating 15 years of OCV membership are Ted Feduska and Bill and Teri Kupper. They all are active in socials, homecomings, and other club events. They also have organized club activities, including the Christmas dinners and trips. Congratulations and thank you for all you do to make our club so much fun. Gambler s Classic Corvettes of Bakersfield has announced that the Gambler s Classic is returning on April th, The show will be held at the Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino in Laughlin NV. The Resort is offering show participants a special rate of $35.00 week night (Thursday) and $55.00 weekend rates (Friday and Saturday) for a standard room. Upgrades are available at an additional cost, call hotel for details. There will be a fenced in secured parking lot for all participants vehicles. The OCV group will fly into Milwaukee. All participants should make their flight plans now to arrive in Milwaukee by 4 PM on Sept 10. Once there, the OCV group will take a bus tour of Milwaukee and then spend the night at the Hyatt. On Sept 11, the group will travel by bus to Mackinac City. The trip includes lunch. The group will ferry over to Mackinac Island for 3 days of fun and then head back to Milwaukee on Sept 14 where there will be an overnight stay at the Milwaukee Hyatt. The 14th and 15th will include a stop in Green Bay to tour Lambeau field, home of the Green Bay Packers, which includes a lunch stop. OCV will also tour the Harley Davidson Museum. Then everyone heads home on Sept 15. Be sure to book a flight home after 2 PM on 9/15. OCV Member Survey Have you filled out your OCV Survey to have input into our club? President Ron Molendyk put together a survey to see what members like about OCV and what they might want to see changed. Sue Lookman ed the survey to members in mid-november. Please take the time to review, complete and return your survey. Only a few responses have been received. Your feedback will help to make our club better. Meeting was called to order at 6:51 PM by President Ron Molendyk. 38 members and 1 guest were present. II. Flag Salute: President III. Bob Blattenberg made a motion to Approve August General Business Meeting minutes, seconded by Larry Ward Minutes approved. IV. Janet Cherry introduced Tony De Rosa s guest, Bob Keys. Bob is from Costa Mesa and owns a 2005 Silver Coupe V. Reports A. President: Ron Molendyk-no report. B. Vice President: Janet Cherry- no report C. Secretary: Sue Lookman- Member survey was ed out to members a couple of weeks ago. We value your feedback. If you had not had a chance to review and respond to the survey, please take a few minutes to do so. We will be discussing the survey results at the Dec 8 board meeting. There were blank surveys and box to deposit them available at the meeting. D. Treasurer: Conda Takanabe- distributed December Treasurer s report. E. Director: Leo Mann- no report F. Newsletter: Carol Thompson- no report G. NCCC Governor/Membership: Janet Cherry- NCCC has revised the document retention policy. We only need to keep documents for three years now. Older documents such as waivers can be destroyed. H. Corvette Museum Ambassador: Paul Kerper no report I. Member News: Nancy Ward 1. Janet Cherry has a new Granddaughter. Her granddaughter will not need shoes for many years and she has bought quite a few pairs. 2. The following members celebrated 15 years in the club-terry and Bill Kupper and Ted Feduska. J. Homecoming Chairperson: Conda Takanabe- no report. K. Website/Apparel Coordinator: Michael Molendyk- per Paul Kerper, our website has been hacked and our website provider, Blue Host has shut it down. Michael will look into what we need to do to remediate it and get the website back up and running. Website/Apparel VI. Coordinator: Michael Molendyk Website update below. November Board meeting Recap- no board meeting in November. The next Board Meeting is Dec 8 at 6:30 at the Citrus Café. VII. Old Business and Past Club Activities A. November Social Recap- Black Bear Diner hosted by Richard and Carol Thompson. About 30 people attended. We were seated on an outside patio with heaters. The food was good and everyone had a good time. B. Vettes for Veterans Car Show. Due to threats of rain, fewer people attended. Richard and Carol Thompson led the caravan to Carlsbad. It was a good show with no rain. Jerry and Jane Wheeler won a $45 prize and George and Isabel Loveren won third place and a $60 prize.

Dec 5, OCV Holiday Party at Angelo and Vinci s, 550 N Harbor Blvd, Fullerton hosted by Terri Kupper and Carol Thompson. The room is available at 6 PM. Appetizers will be served at 6 PM and dinner at 6:45. There will be games and we will have a DJ and dancing after dinner. There are still openings available if you did not sign up and want to attend B. Dec 9 (Wednesday) Holiday Movie Night White Christmas. Cinema City Theater, Anaheim Hills. Movie starts at 7PM. Meet at Knowlwood in the center for dinner at 5:15. There is construction in the front parking lot of the theater so you may need to park in the back parking structure. OC VETTES GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING MINUTES (Continued) CITRUS CAFÉ, TUSTIN, December 1, 2015 Other Activities- A. Joe is working on a cruise on the Harmony for 2017 B. Poker Run- Paul Kerper and Joe Orsini are starting to plan the Poker run. It is a challenge to find a restaurant large enough to accommodate 120 people for the end. If you have any suggestions for a place that will accommodate us, let Paul or Joe know. Someone suggested Moreno s in Orange. X. Member Forum- A. Per Tony DeRosa, our guest, Bob Keys is waiting for delivery of his 2016 Corvette. He just read in Consumer Reports that the 2016 Corvette is unreliable and wanted to know of any member experiences. No one has had any issues. Consumer reports never rates Corvettes very high. They like Fords. B. Tony De Rosa knows of two Corvettes for sale. Contact him if interested. C. Ron Pavek has a friend who needs a contact for an extended warranty on a Corvette. It was suggested that he contact Kervex in NJ
