Main next to the Dr. Eugene Clark Library. Dr. White and his staff rolled out the carpet for Chamber members and his patients with an incredible spread of food and beverages. Fabulous gift bags were also given away along with three drawings for door prizes. About 75 people in total came to the come n go event from 5:30-7pm. Attendees were treated to a sneak peek at the renovations at the Library with tours given by Jim Smith and his son Will of Countywide Builders. Business after Hours is a great opportunity to network and socialize with other local business people in a casual atmosphere after normal business hours. The Chamber Board and Staff would like to thank Dr. Lew White for his sponsorship of this event and his countless hours as our Mayor, giving of himself and his treasures for the betterment of our community. The next Business after Hours is scheduled for May and we are looking for a sponsor. 3 From the pen of the President Welcome our New Members River Rock Dental 1906 S. Colorado, Suite 110, Lockhart TX This past weekend was the 2nd Annual Lone Star Grand Prix and from all accounts, it was a tremendous weekend even with the rain and cold on Sunday. It is amazing what we can do when we all pull together for our community. We want to especially thank Vance Rodgers for his foresight in bringing this to Lockhart and all the extra effort by our City Staff. We also want to thank the Lockhart Post-Register for the Visitors Guide and SH 130 Concessions for the help and advertising with our Press Release and signage on the toll road. There are also the countless volunteers. Can t wait until next year s races! Speaking of racing, your Chamber staff and Board of Directors are revving up as we race towards the 42nd Annual Chisholm Trail Roundup. If you have not heard, we have Roger Creager headlining Saturday night and Granger Smith opening. In fact we have a very diverse line-up June on two stages. Sponsorships packets went out this last week and we need the community s support to ensure proper advertising and promotion of this event. This brings economic activity as far as tourism dollars to our community that benefits us all. The reports show that this is the biggest two weekends as far as putting heads in beds for our Hotel Occupancy Tax Funding. We are bringing back the Rodeo for a second year and many of our first year sponsors are supporting us again to continue this tradition. It is family friendly and a joy to watch. We are adding new higher bleachers for even better seating at the City Park. Make sure you stay up to date on everything about Chisholm Trail Roundup by monitoring the updates on Facebook and on our website at: Again, it is a pleasure to serve as the President of YOUR chamber of commerce. If you have idea or suggestions, my door and ears are open to hear from you. Stop by or shoot us an any time.
