2 Summary The Iowa Central Chapter of ITE is pleased to host the 2017 Annual Spring MOVITE Meeting in beautiful Des Moines, Iowa. The Des Moines metropolitan area is a vibrant and thriving metropolis where you can experience locally-owned restaurants, farmers markets, live music, public art, endless trails and familyfriendly attractions. The 2017 Spring Meeting will be held at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown, located in the heart of the downtown s business district and connected to local businesses via skywalk. A complimentary shuttle service to Des Moines International Airport is also available. The Local Arrangements Committee has worked hard to develop an educational program and networking events. A summary is below, with a draft technical agenda on the following page. Wednesday, April 19 The conference begins in the afternoon with a tour of downtown design and infrastructure improvements and a demonstration on connected vehicles, followed by a networking social that evening at the Rock River Grill & Tavern on the 2nd floor of the hotel. Thursday, April 20 and Friday, April 21 On Thursday and Friday, there will be presentations, keynote speakers, and a Thursday night social event including our own Traffic Tailgate Tournament. Highlights include: Thursday keynote speaker: Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie Technical sessions on local and regional transportation projects, emerging technologies in transportation, and more. Friday s breakfast will include honoring MOVITE Past Presidents and a panel discussion with some of the major employers in downtown Des Moines (Principal, Meredith, Kum & Go, and Nationwide) on the link between transportation and economic development.

The rate is $139/night for single or double occupancy (plus taxes and fees), and the cut-off date is March 29. Parking is available through the Marriott. Rates are as follows: $24 daily, or $12 for 8 hours or less, for valet parking through the Marriott $14 daily for self-parking off-site. A complimentary shuttle to the Des Moines International Airport is available, on request. 5 Registration Registration can be completed either online or by mail or . Full payment is requested at the time of registration and early registration is encouraged. Student registration will be available at a reduced rate. Full registration includes all technical sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Thursday breakfast, lunch, and evening social event, and Friday breakfast. 6 Sponsorship The success of events such as the MOVITE Spring Conference is the result of the support of organizations who recognize the value of the services provided by this organization. Companies are able to show their support for the meeting and MOVITE through a sponsorship. In return, your company s logo will be displayed on various meeting materials, with recognition given during the conference, to maximize visibility of your company to meeting attendees. An of your company s logo shall be ed to Todd Knox (tknox@snyder-associates.com) prior to March 29 so that it can be included on the official program and meeting materials. The sponsorship registration includes 1 full meeting registration. Exhibitors The MOVITE Spring Conference offers organizations an opportunity to showcase their products and services to a large and varied audience of transportation professionals. Exhibitor booths will be available for those organizations who register for an exhibitor registration. Additional information is below: Space is limited to up to 10 exhibitors. Assignment of exhibitor spaces will be done on a first come, first serve basis. Exhibitor booths will be located in an adjacent room to the presentations, near registration, and in the same room where breaks will be held. Exhibitor booths can be set up starting on Wednesday, April 19, at 6:00 PM or Thursday, April 20, at 6:00 AM (coordination with Todd Knox) and need to be taken down by Thursday, April 20, at 5:00 PM. The room will be secured Wednesday night. Price of registration includes table with cloth, chair, and power. Hotel Wi-Fi available. 7 Social activities Wednesday night s social activities will be held at the Rock River Grill & Tavern on the 2nd floor of the Marriott Hotel. Catch up with other MOVITE colleagues and receive advice on possible dining and entertainment options in the vicinity. Join us Thursday night for food, drinks, and games at our very own Traffic Tailgate Tournament! We will form teams to compete in a variety of traffic-related and non-traffic related events for prizes and bragging rights. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes as some of the events will be active. More details will be provided at the meeting.
