1 COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA LEGISLATIVE JOURNAL MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2017 SESSION OF ST OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY No. 5 HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES The House convened at 1 p.m., e.s.t. THE SPEAKER (MIKE TURZAI) PRESIDING PRAYER HON. HAROLD A. ENGLISH, member of the House of Representatives, offered the following prayer: Please bow your heads. Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing us here together and return us safely to our families. You have blessed each of us with this amazing opportunity to serve our neighbors in our communities. We appreciate all the staff here in the Capitol that enhance our abilities to do Your work for the people of Pennsylvania, and we pray for them. We pray for our Governor and our Senators that will join us this week in the House to work together for the people of Pennsylvania. We thank You for the wisdom and guidance from those renewing their leadership and committee responsibilities. We ask for Your guidance to those in new positions, assigned new committees, and those undertaking new and additional responsibilities. You have given each of us the ability to think, to talk, and to reason. We ask that when we think, You help us to think of others. We ask that when we talk, You help us to listen to others. We ask that when we reason, You help us to be reasonable. We know that we will never run out of things to worry about, but that we need not worry as long as we have trust in You. Here I am, Lord. Lead me, and I will follow. Amen. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE (The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by members and visitors.) JOURNAL APPROVAL POSTPONED The SPEAKER.
