3 6.0 Board Business 6.1 MNP External Review Update - 2nd Report Submitted To The Minister of Education The report was submitted to the Minister's Department July The August 2015 response from the Minister was read outlining a final report is to be submitted in December Bi-Election For Ward 8 - Update Verbal update presented by Secretary-Treasurer Downey. Notice will be sent out for By-Election Date will be November 17, Reynolds School - Community Meeting MOTION #14-15/08-27/0261 Trustee Duma Trustee Nichol BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board approve a Reynolds Community Meeting on September 21, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. regarding the disposing of the Reynolds School. Inform the public of the meeting by the website and local newspapers. 6.4 Whitemouth Pilot Project Update - Secretary-Treasurer MOTION #14-15/08-27/0262 Trustee Duma Trustee Van Damme BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board upholds the current Sunrise School Division Transportation Policy. More information will be presented at the next meeting. 6.6 Religious Instruction Request For Ecole Dugald School - By-Law # st Reading MOTION #14-15/08-27/0263 Trustee Duma Trustee Nichol BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board approve the 1st Reading of the Religious Instruction By-Law # for Ecole Dugald School. 6.7 Heartland Colony School - Carry-Over Request MOTION #14-15/08-27/0264 Trustee Nichol Trustee Duma BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board approve the Heartland Carry-Over request of $ for Distance Education. 5 A) Committee Reports and Recommendations 6.8 Network for Change Update An update was given by Chairperson Champagne. Agenda item deferred to the next Board Meeting. 6 6.12 Sunrise School Division - Operational By-Law # st Reading MOTION #14-15/08-27/0267 Trustee Bernat Trustee Van Damme BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board approve the 1st reading of the Operational By-Law # as presented. 7.0 Superintendent's Report - INFORMATION ONLY A verbal report presented by Superintendent Isaak along with a report submitted for reference. Highlights: A thank you for the welcome and support from Staff and Trustees; the meetings attended with regards to moving forward and review of Policy the use of technology; and thank you for the summer work from the departments. 8.0 Secretary-Treasurer's Report 8.1 Bus Engine Purchase MOTION #14-15/08-27/0268 Trustee Nichol Trustee Bernat BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board approve the purchase of the Bus Engine. 8.2 Secretary-Treasurer s Update An update presented by Secretary-Treasurer Downey. Highlights: Auditors in September; the all-day project tour coordinated by the Maintenance Manager Ryback will be on Thursday, September 3, 2015 and the preparation for the Transportation Department Operational Audit this fall.
