Meeting will be video-taped. 2.0 Adoption of Agenda MOTION #16-17/09-05/0000 Trustee Duma Trustee Mazur BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board approve the Inaugural Board Meeting agenda as presented. 2 3.0 Board Reorganization Secretary-Treasurer Downey presided at the election of the Chairperson as provided by Section 29(2) of the Public Schools Act. Secretary-Treasurer Downey appointed Assistant Superintendent Lesley Eblie Trudel and Assistant Superintendent Cathy Tymko as scrutineers. a) Chairperson - Nominations MOTION #16-17/09-06/0001 Trustee Nichol Move that Trustee Champagne be nominated as Chairperson of the Board for the ensuing year. Nomination accepted. 3 call for nominations. Secretary-Treasurer Downey closed nominations. b) Chairperson Election Trustee Champagne declared the elected Chairperson by acclamation. Secretary-Treasurer Downey relinquished the Chairperson to Trustee Champagne. c) Vice-Chairperson - Nominations MOTION #16-17/09-06/0002 Trustee Mazur Move that Trustee Duma be nominated as Vice-Chairperson of the Board for the ensuing year. Nomination accepted. 3 calls for nominations. Trustee Champagne closed nominations. d) Vice-Chairperson - Elections Trustee Champagne declared the elected Vice-Chairperson Duma by acclamation. 3 e) Standing/Legislated Committee Chairperson Finance /Audit Committee Chairperson - Nomination MOTION #16-17/09-06/0003 Trustee Kiernicki Move that Trustee Mazur be nominated as the Chairperson of the Finance/Audit Committee for the ensuing year. Nomination accepted. 3 calls for nominations. Chairperson Champagne closed nominations. f) Standing/Legislated Committee Chairperson Finance /Audit Committee Chairperson - Election Trustee Champagne declared the elected Finance/Audit Committee Chairperson Mazur for the ensuing year by acclamation. g) Standing/Legislated Committee Chairperson Policy Committee Chairperson - Nominations MOTION #16-17/09-06/0004 Trustee Duma Move that Trustee Bernat be nominated as the Chairperson of the Policy Committee. 3 calls for nominations. Chairperson Champagne closed nominations. h) Standing/Legislated Committee Chairperson Policy Committee Chairperson Election Trustee Bernat was declared the elected Chairperson of the Policy Committee for the ensuing year. i) Election of Standing/Legislated Committees Members Finance/Audit Committee (3 Trustees) - Nominations Call for nominations made by Chairperson Champagne. 4 j) Election of Standing/Legislated Committee Members Finance/Audit Committees (3 Trustees) Election Trustee Duma, Trustee Kiernicki and Trustee Reid were elected as members of the Finance/Audit Committee for the ensuing year. k) Election of Standing/Legislated Committee Members Policy Committee (3 Trustees) Nominations Call for nominations by Chairperson Champagne. Trustee Kiernicki, Trustee Duma, Trustee Nichol and Trustee Reid accepted; stated their interest. l) Election of Standing/Legislated Committee Members Policy Committee (3 Trustees) Elections Trustees Kiernicki, Trustee Duma and Trustee Nichol were elected as the members of the Policy Committee for the ensuing year. m) Brokenhead Recreation Representative Trustee Mazur accepted. n) Edgewater Recreation Representative Trustee Barnard accepted. o) Springfield Recreation Representative n/a Note: No representative required. There is no Springfield Recreation. p) Whitemouth River Recreation Commission Representative Trustee Nichol accepted. q) Winnipeg River Recreation Commission Representative Trustee Reid accepted.
