RENEW YOUR BLUE MAX & AMA & FAA MEMBERSHIPS!! AMA CHARTER 1040 GOLD LEADERSHIP CLUB WHEELS UP by Steve Gelman Welcome Back, Our annual Summer picnic went off without a hitch, special thanks to Bob Breckler, Larry Bochenko and Jim Kaufman. Bob provided us a wonderful Fried Chicken picnic lunch with all the fixin s, and many members brought sides and deserts to share. Larry and Jim took the lead and went shopping for prizes and provided additional support. Ron Petterec donated a Sig ARF, and ordered perfect picnic weather. Every member received a Raffle ticket and took their turn at selecting one of 60 prizes. Our member spouse s received a gift certificate from Kohls. We played musical planes and had lots of open flying. All picnic costs were absorbed by the club this year. We are looking for volunteers for next year s picnic, so please sign up if you are interested. I have been spending most of my flying time with my new 15CC Carbon Cub. The engine is breaking-in well and I have been improving my rudder skills. Our next fun-fly is scheduled for Sunday August 19, watch your for details. I also want to stress on safety, and make you aware to watch everything that you do on the ground and in the air, while following the field and AMA rules. This is to assure safety to yourselves and others. Our next meeting is Monday August 20th at 7:00 PM. Please remember to bring something for the food bank.
