Accommodations for Non-Metro Area Legislators A block of rooms has been reserved at the Warwick Hotel and the Brown Palace for legislators-elect attending Phase II and Phase III of New Legislator Orientation Program who live outside of the Denver metro area, which is considered at least 50 miles from the State Capitol. Phase III Spouses/Companion Program and What it Means to be a State Policy Maker Luncheon The spouse/companion program is the afternoon of Thursday, December 13 and the morning of Friday, December 14. Is your spouse or companion planning on attending this program? Yes No Thursday, December 13 Friday, December 14 A panel discussion on what it means to be a state policy maker will be held over the lunch hour at the History Colorado Center on Friday, December 14. Guests will be served a micro brew pork belly with wild mushroom salad, smoked tomato asparagus, creamy polenta, and vanilla bean creme brulee for dessert. A vegetarian option is also available. Legislative Staff Support Team Program The Office of Legislative Legal Services, the Legislative Council Staff, the Joint Budget Committee Staff, and the Office of the State Auditor will each assign a staff person to provide assistance with submitting your bill requests, requesting research, and for any questions or other requests you may have regarding legislative staff services and support. To facilitate assignment of your staff support team, please identify two or three areas in which you are interested in working. Your staff support team members will introduce themselves to you during Phase II of the New Legislator Orientation Program.
