1 2018 West Virginia Mine Symposium The 45 th Annual West Virginia Mine Symposium presented by the West Virginia Coal Association was held at the Charleston Civic Center, Charleston, WV on January 30 31, There were 388 attendees. The meeting comprised four Technical Sessions which were well-attended as well as the traditional Mountaineer Guardian Safety Awards Luncheon and Annual Reclamation Awards Luncheon. In addition, there were some 28 mining engineering students present from WVU and they had their photos taken with Governor Jim Justice of West Virginia.
