San Jacinto College will meet, commencing at 12:30 on Thursday August 20, 2015 in room 1111 SJC and 851MVC. The starting time listed for the meeting is approximate. Public testimony will be invited in conjunction with discussion on each item. Purpose The purpose of the Student Government Association is to provide a student organization through which students may have the means of some determination in the activities and affairs of their college life. Objectives shall be as follows: To represent student interests, rights, and concerns; To stimulate student awareness of and involvement in the many academic, cultural, social, and community opportunities available at MSJC; To promote student awareness and appreciation of the values and traditions of the college; To enhance communication/cooperation between all segments of the campus community; To organize, finance, and budget student activities and programs through a fair and representative process. 3 II. Public Comment: This time is reserved for members of the public to address the Student Government Association on issues not already appearing on the agenda. A limit of 5 minutes per speaker and 20 minutes per topic shall be enforced. Joseph P. made a comment about next Friday August 28 th anyone with SGA sticker gets in for 5 bucks and can bring in a guest for free. Johnnny makes a comment about keeping the campus environment clean and recycling. Alexandria Mundy steps down from secretary to senator. Evelyn thanks Alexandria for her service. III. Advisor Report Sandi reports that we need a volunteer from the Homecoming Committee to call Superior Ready for an estimate for two scoops of sand for homecoming firepits on October 15th November 14 th MSJC Arts Festival Jazz and Conversation on Minifee Campus needs SGA volunteers College Ready needs volunteers at Menifee campus on October 15 th
