2 Lcatins: Mwanza Nyarugusu Refugee Camp Kilimanjar Entry and Exit Pint Nyarugusu Refugee Camp HHF Dental and Visin Healthcare Clinics brught the first pprtunity Nyarugusu refugees have had fr these services since camp inceptin in ,000 refugees have fled plitical unrest and civil wars in Burundi and DR Cng. Currently 2 nd largest refugee camp in the wrld is ver capacity. Mre new arrivals daily. Established in Plitical crisis in 2015 initiated current massive human mvements. Limited nutritin, dusty crwded living cnditins, lack f preventative care, and n treatment ptins have created immense unaddressed needs fr dental and visin care. Dctrs Withut Brders are active fr malarial utbreaks, the largest medical risk, and Red Crss Hspitals fcus is maternity care. Diarrhea, respiratry tract infectins, and skin cnditins are cmmn. As the result f successful prtable healthcare clinics fr the peple f Mwanza and Ngrngr Crater, HHF was invited by lcal Nyarugusu leadership, Lve f Calgary Church and Bishp Lenard Daffa f Arusha tgether with Benjamin Ilungaa Wailunga, a Cnglese refugee and Chairman f Nyarugusu Sectin 3, t prvide needed healthcare and skills fr wmen at risk f abuse and rape while cllecting water and firewd. We wrked in crdinatin with the Red Crss and were authrized by the Medical Cuncil f Tanganyika. This was the first utreach t prvide dental r visin care in Nyarugusu. Valuable infrmatin and experience was gained regarding healthcare needs f the refugees, lgistics fr small team prtable healthcare delivery and healthcare team travel t this area. T date HHF has kept 1300 girls in schl during their perids! Hpe 100 Wmen Cmplete Self Defense Trainer Curse in Nyarugusu Camp In Nyarugusu, wmen and girls are at high risk f rape as they cllect water and firewd. I am afraid each day t get firewd. Nw I can g n fear. Nw I am happy I knw what t d. Refugee Camp leaders requested ur help in addressing the issue f safely fr the wmen and girls. HHF jined with Master Self Defense Instructr Judy f Studi Naga, CA and Kwa Wazee f Tanzania t bring a 4-day Self Defense curse t Burundian and Cnglese refugee wmen. Pre-class survey shwed wmen had nt learned Self Defense and were nt cnfident they culd prtect themselves if attacked. Pst-class 100% were cnfident t say NO and prtect themselves. This is everything t me We are cntinuing t build a slid educatinal prgram. Our free, small individually fcused classes are helping rphaned students catch up with peers and excel. Student schlarships t gvernment schls are available t spnsr children in need. The She Lending Library and Nutritin Prgram have spiked schl attendance and learning. This year we added mre student tables, chairs, large chalk bard, and 11 mre laptps. Rsemary and Paulina cherished spending time with their HHF Spnsrs Nic and Kim Olsn! They are in successful business grups, utilizing HHF micrlans and have crdinated t rent indr market space. T set them apart in the marketplace with attractive advertising, clrful clean surfaces, and prtectin frm sun and rain, this year slar lights, clrful umbrellas and vinyl carpets were added t their stalls.

6 Hpe Ersin Cntrl/ Transprtatin Infrastructure Funds and prgrams are lacking t repair rads deeply rutted and dangerus t lcal traffic. We pass here, but it is dangerus at night as ne may fall inside. Sccer shes lvingly dnated t Tanzanian Tumaini students are in use n the field daily. HHF Sprts Camp was attended by 158 student athletes. Sccer fr bys; Netball fr girls. Fast feet, high kicks, headers, blcking, teamwrk, self-esteem and leadership. These kids ROCK!
