2 Page 2 P RESIDENT S PODIUM R ON W ONG O ur April meeting was held at the Knott s Berry Farm Resort. We had 60 in attendance. The highlight of the morning was the presentation of the Annual RF Technologist Award winners. The CPRA celebrated National Public Safety Telecommunicators week with an evening banquet recognizing telecommuncations professional throughout Southern California, awards and recognition were presented to the best of telecommunicators in various categories. Congratulations to all those receiving the RF Technologist and Telecommunicators awards. I want to thank David Buchanan for an informative presentation on how the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council (NPSTC) supports public safety communications and interoperability. David was very gracious to step up at a moment s notice when the scheduled speaker became unable to attend the meeting. The May 19 general meeting will be held in Riverside at the Riverside County EMD, the program will be Public Health Communications Center Development by the County. Please see CPRA.ORG for driving direction. We look forward for each of you to join us this month with your colleagues from the many agencies and vendors in Southern California. Welcoming Remarks Ron Wong: Ron welcomed everybody to the meeting, and thanked Early Bird Host Erik Borg. He then invited John Sarkissian to lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Ron announced an increase in meeting fee to $25.00 effective at the May meeting. RFIT Awards: Ron introduced all the award recipients for IT Technologist, RF Technologist, and RF Engineer.
