Registration preferred by contacting nnadeau@skpl.org or SOUTH KINGSTOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY AMNESTY DAY SATURDAY, APRIL 8 LOCATION: PEACE DALE AND KINGSTON FREE On Saturday, April 8, the South Kingstown Public Library will be offering amnesty on returned items. Fines will only be waived for items brought back that day. Amnesty does not apply to materials that are lost or damaged, or old fines. Many public libraries around the state will be offering this free fine day bring back any overdue materials and clear your account! PEACE DALE LIBRARY SPRING BOOK SALE SATURDAY, APRIL 29, 9:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M. Join us for the Friends of the Peace Dale Library Spring Book Sale! Stop in and see what great reads you might find. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Peace Dale Library, who support library programming and initiatives for all ages. As of April 1, 2017, all patrons must present a library card to check out, renew, or place holds at all branches of the South Kingstown Public Library. Don t want to carry another card around? Join us as Jenna Teachout of the Newport Historical Society discusses the stimulating impact the introduction of coffee had on life in the American colonies, specifically Rhode Island. Casey Farm will be bringing chicks and eggs to the library to talk about bird life cycles and the farm life of a free range chicken in this hands on program for all ages. Join URI Geology Professor Dawn Cardace for a fun, hands on introduction to rocks and minerals. This is an all ages family program, no registration required. We ll meet on the Library lawn if the weather is good, otherwise we ll meet indoors. All ages, no registration required. LEGO STORYTELLERS LEGO POETRY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26, 4:00-4:45 P.M. Celebrate National Poetry Month by building Lego structures that double as poems. Geared for ages 5-12, but all ages are welcome. Legos are supplied by and stored at the library. No registration required. POEM IN YOUR POCKET DAY THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 12:00-5:00 P.M. Drop by the Children s Room to celebrate Poem in Your Pocket Day. Choose a poem to take home and share with others throughout the day. Poetry related activities and crafts will be offered. All ages, no registration required.
