Informational Items Current Investments (see attached detail) Donations: $250 from Jean Fisher (class of 1963) of Kingston, NH to the Spirit of Geneva Scholarship Fund The following organizations are being recognized for helping to bring former WWE Wrestling Champion Marc Mero to Ashtabula County to deliver his CHOICES presentation addressing the issues of bullying, suicide prevention, alcohol and substance abuse, goal setting, dreaming big, making positive choices and achieving your highest potential. Marc will be presenting at Geneva High School and Middle School as well as other schools in the county. I would like to recognize Zachary Lenart, 7 th grade, winner of the Patriot s Pen contest and Mallory Sharpe, 11 th grade, winner of the Voice of Democracy contest. Both contests were sponsored by the VFW. Zachary and Mallory will be sharing their winning entries this evening. 2. I recommend adoption of the enclosed Geneva Area City School District school calendar. 3. I recommend that the Board approve the enclosed Inter-District Open Enrollment Policy for the school year. 4. I recommend that the budget with the amounts and rates as determined by the Ashtabula County Budget Commission be approved: WHEREAS, This Board of Education in accordance with the provisions of law has previously adopted a Tax Budget for the next succeeding fiscal year commencing July 1, 2018; and WHEREAS, The Budget Commission of Ashtabula County, Ohio, has certified its action thereon to this Board together with an estimate by the County Auditor of the rate of each tax necessary to be levied by this Board, and what part thereof is without, and what part within, the ten mill tax limitation; therefore, be it RESOLVED, By the Board of Education of the Geneva Area City School District, Ashtabula County, Ohio, that the amounts and rates, as determined by the Budget Commission in its certification, be and the same are hereby accepted; and be it further RESOLVED, That there be and is hereby levied on the tax duplicate of said School District the rate of each tax necessary to be levied within and without the ten mill limitation as follows: 2

I recommend that the contract for the following director be renewed for two (2) years, to be paid according to the adopted Directors Contract Guidelines, and subject to meeting certification requirements of the State of Ohio.
