1 REGULAR MEETING June 16, 2014 PRESENT: Mayor Robinson, Trustees Appleton, Gardner, Marsh and Wagner, Superintendent Stearns, Chief of Police Hoffmeister, Building Inspector Hurlburt, and Clerk Hoffmeister Others Present: Chris Gordon from the Country Courier, Joe Cummins, Charles and Charlene Voorhees, Marcia Reese, Sally Smith, Fred Witkowski Mayor Robinson presided. Meeting was open with a salute to the flag. Minutes of the previous meeting of June 2, 2014 were approved as submitted by . Maria Reese asked if brush was still being picked up at the end of the month and the Superintendent stated that it is. Sally Smith addressed the Board regarding accidents at the falls and wondered if we could have posted signs put up. The Mayor stated that the falls are not on Village property and the signs would have to be put up by the owner. Sally was also concerned about mowing of lawns. She was under to impression that lawns were supposed to be mowed at least weekly. The Building Inspector stated that state code states grass is not to exceed 10 inches. The village is having the most problem with the lawns of abandoned properties. Sally also asked about the hours for the pool because she has been hearing that the pool closes at the end of July. In years past the pool has been open until mid-august and will remain the same for this year. LEGION HALL USE: Received a letter from Wyoming County Youth Bureau requesting the use of the Legion Hall on Monday, September 29, 2014 to conduct Youth Court. Also request fee be waived. FIRE DEPARTMENT: Received a letter from New York State Department of Labor regarding information to assist fire departments to determine risk assessment and need for emergency escape equipment. Received Thank You from Warsaw Park Gun Preservation Team for donation to the project.

2 POLICE DEPARTMENT: Chief of Police Hoffmeister informed the Board that he has received resignation letters from full time Officers Ryan Buttles and Bret Zawadzki and part time Officers Mike Bentham and Jonathan Parker. BUILDING INSPECTOR REPORT: Building Inspector Hurlburt informed the Board that Karson Heubusch is currently operating without a license. Paul Falcone s building permit expired yesterday, Sunday, June 15, A stop work order will be issued tomorrow, Tuesday, June 17, Will contact village attorney to move forward. Danny also informed the Board that he has had several issues with mowing. Most trouble finding owners of properties when mortgages are sold. Trustee Appleton stated that there is a bill in the senate regarding the abandoned properties and suggested that we contact Senator Gallivan or Assemblyman DiPietro. Will discuss what course of action may be taken with the village attorney. PUBLIC WORKS PROGRESS REPORT: STREETS Swept streets, dragged and leveled ball fields, equipment maintenance as needed, electrical repairs to the panel box at the Boy Scout cabin, installed benches on Rte 19 and 20A, flower baskets were hung on Rte 19 and 20A in the business district, installed manhole riser at the Legion Hall, cleaned stainless steel on pool ladders and lifeguard chairs, cleaned and filled the Beardsley and wading pools, chlorine and acid delivered and stored in the pool basement, top soiled and seeded where tree stumps were ground out, assisted NYSEG with removing trees, excavated for water main break on Rte 20A West, above the railroad tracks, excavated for valve replacement on Gouinlock St and cold patched a road cut on 20A West and Gouinlock Street. WATER DISTRIBUTION Daily checks and stakeouts, final readings as needed, daily chlorine samples taken in NWD, reading meter books A,B,C and D, installed solenoid valve in the vault off Wyoming Street, installed a new curbstop at the Warsaw Cemetery, replaced a 6 valve and pipe on 20A West above the railroad tracks, replaced 6 gate valve on Gouinlock Street and draining and cleaning the swimming pools. WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT Daily tests and maintenance, monthly samples and reports, Royal Flush discharged 1,140 gallons of septage, Roblee inspected a backflow valve and rototilled and raked drying beds. INFORMATION The 8 water main that was installed at the Allen Street bridge site had steel driven through the water line. I am not sure what will be done to repair or replace the line. WATER TREATMENT PLANT Daily tests were performed and results recorded, daily maintenance was performed and adjustments as needed, generator tested successfully, Steve s application for 2A Water Certification has been approved by the Wyoming County Health Department and forwarded to the State Health Department, waiting for reply, was told this could take up to 6 weeks, scrapped, primed and painted exterior doors and ordered all pool chemicals and reagents for the summer.

Trustee Marsh commended Chief Hoffmeister for working diligently with the schedule to cover shifts with limited staff.
