Per Rita Hooton under New Business she (not Pat Sovinski) reported on the DOT Clean-A-Highway Project and under Food Protection Committee Report the year for the CFP should be 2010 not Hearing no other corrections, Mark stated the minutes are accepted as amended. AUDITORS Margaret Voyles/Mickey Carr (Mark Stiker & Sarah Jonker 2011) Margaret will send financial forms to Chapter Treasurers for use in 2011.

3 Page Three TREASURER S REPORT Sarah Jonker Sarah distributed the current budget report for December. Current December Budget Report The Operations (Checking) Account balance is $10, The Money Market/Equipment & Contingency Fund Account (minus COPED and Savings for COPED) balance is $21, Interest for COPED (which includes interest from $10,000, $1,000 donation, $4,000 from 2003 Fall Conference surplus, $ from 2004 Fall Conference silent auction, $1,215 donation from the 2007 budget, and $ from 2008 Fall Conference silent auction) is $1, The Savings Account balance is $ There was discussion about moving the Money Market to a different financial institution in There will be additional discussion at the January 2011 Board meeting. Mark stated the Treasurer s report will be filed subject to audit. COMMITTEE REPORTS AWARDS COMMITTEE Mark Mattox NO REPORT C.O.P.E.D. COMMITTEE Sarah Jonker for Todd Webb There is $1, available for scholarships in INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR FOOD PROTECTION (IAFP) Kelli Whiting Kelli reported that Dr. Haley Oliver s IAFP membership is not due until July IEHA will pay her dues when they come due. Tami will send in the IAFP complimentary membership for Sylvia Garrison. Kelli reported that abstracts are due January 19 th for the IAFP Annual Educational Conference. N.E.H.A. LIAISON Adam Rickert (arrived and took over for Mark) NO REPORT MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE Margaret Voyles & Mike Sutton There are currently 300 paid active members. Of the are new members and there are 13 sustaining members. Tami is working on the 2011 Membership mailing. NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE Mike Sutton & Margaret Voyles NO REPORT LEGISLATIVE LIAISON David Lamm NO REPORT PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE Ed Norris The Fall/Winter Journal has been sent to Dave Lamm for distribution. There was further discussion on the Journal info sheet Ed will add information and bring it back to the January 2011 Board meeting.

4 Page Four FOOD PROTECTION COMMITTEE Stephanie Cain & Sharon Breckenridge Co-Chairs NO REPORT The Co-Chairs for 2011 will be Melissa Ackerman and Sylvia Garrison. The next meeting is scheduled for January 14, 2011 at the ISDH building. GENERAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SERVICES COMMITTEE Sarah Jonker for Jason Ravenscroft The last meeting was December 2 nd officer elections where not held at this meeting. Jason Ravenscroft will remain Chair and Richard Voller will remain Secretary for The next meeting is scheduled for February 9 th at 10:00 at the IDEM Shadeland Office. WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE Denise Wright The last meeting was December 9 th. The Committee is moving forward on several projects: 1) Developing paperwork to accompany the Operation and Maintenance model ordinance. The paperwork is intended to assist the LHD in implementing the ordinance and not having to reinvent the wheel for each county; 2) Onsite Sewage System Plan submittal document review. This would be a guide for LHDs to know what information should be included in a plan submittal; 3) Plan Review document. This document will assist LHDs in conducting and documenting an on-site sewage system plan review. Dates to remember: February 15 & 16: ISDH LHD On-Site Winter Meeting in Indianapolis and March 2 thru 5: Pumper s Show in Louisville, Kentucky (coming to Indy in 2012). TERRORISM AND ALL-HAZARDS PREPAREDNESS COMMITTEE Sarah Jonker for Travis Goodman Sarah Jonker reported that Sarah Popovich will be the point person for the Environmental Strike Teams. Applications are still being accepted. They need at least 8 more people. Information about the strike teams will go out with the 2011 membership notices and be posted to the website. Jennifer Rekers will be the Chair in I.P.H.A. LIAISON Josh Williams Josh reported the IPHA Executive Board met last week. He has been elected Treasurer of the IPHA Board. There was discussion about IEHA exhibiting at the Indiana Joint National Public Health Week Conference in April. Josh will get the exhibit information for the Board to consider. IN PUBLIC HEALTH TRAINING CENTER (formerly IU DEPT. OF PUBLIC HEALTH-OFFICE OF PUBLIC HEALTH PRACTICE (formerly MID-AMERICA PUBLIC HEALTH TRAINING CENTER (MAPHTC) LIAISON Kate Nicholson NO REPORT Kate provided a list of possible environmental curriculum topics for comment. Kelli, Adam and Josh will meet after the January Executive Board meeting to review and provide comments. I.D.E.M. LIAISON Catherine Hess NO REPORT

5 Page Five IOWPA LIAISON submitted by Donna Sheets for Dick Blazer IOWPA/ISDH regional trainings were held in Scott, Knox and Marshall counties in December. The Howard County training was rescheduled for January 12 th. The IOWPA Conference will be held January 31 to February 1, The new IOWPA certification exam will be offered at the Conference. The program/registration/newsletter for the conference is available at BOAH LIAISON submitted by Dr. James Hollis Dr. Hollis reported there are two new Meat Inspection Compliance Field Personnel: Dan Chandler southern half of state and Jamie Noble northern half of state. I.S.D.H. LIAISON submitted by Mary Stiker NO REPORT IN TIME LIAISON submitted by Jeff Larmore (Background for this Liaison position - Jason Doerflein reported that the Quick Clearance Project (now referred to as IN TIME) has requested a representative from the Association. The focus of this group is to determine how best to clean up accidents, spills, etc. to get traffic moving again. Jason suggested that the Association appoint Jeff Larmore, Marion County Health Department, to this group. Jeff has been attending the meetings from the inception. Jason Doerflein moved that the Association appoint Jeff to be the IEHA rep to this group, it was seconded by Ginger Vargas and passed unanimously).jeff reported there are three documents before the group for review and comment by January 11: 1) MedEvac Landing Zones: Recommendations of Safe Practice; 2) Interstate 69 and Interstate 469 Alternative Route Development for Incident Management;3) On-Scene Traffic Fatality Data Collection Form. The next meeting is scheduled for January 18, 2011 at the Indianapolis TMC FALL CONFERENCE Adam Rickert Adam reported we are still collecting outstanding money and all expenses have been paid SPRING CONFERENCE Tami Barrett for Travis Goodman Travis signed the contract with Valle Vista for the 2011 Spring Conference to be held on April 13 th. Save the Date info is on the website FALL CONFERENCE Josh Williams Josh reported the conference will be held at Pokagon State Park on September 19, 20 & 21, His tentative theme is Creating Value for Environmental Health in Indiana. Save the Date info is on the website. Dr. Larkin has agreed to be the keynote speaker on the 19 th. OLD BUSINESS Tami asked if the Board wanted to purchase Legislative Directories - the Board decided against this purchase. NEW BUSINESS Adam will Committee Chairs to see who might be interested in continuing in Dave Lamm has decided not to continue as Legislative Liaison.

6 Page Six CHAPTER REPORTS All Chapter Reports should be submitted to the Secretary in writing. NORTHWEST CHAPTER submitted by Rita Hooton The last meeting was December 16 th at Earthworks (an environmental learning center sponsored by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ) in Plymouth. There was a tour of the facility and the campus. There were 13 in attendance. The next meeting is to be hosted by LaPorte County. NORTHEAST CHAPTER submitted by Patrick Sovinski The last meeting was December 16 th in Allen County. There was a tour of the Cadillac Coffee Company. Dr. McMahan, Allen County Health Officer, spoke about the public health challenges regarding the Burmese population. The next meeting is scheduled for January 20, 2011 in Adams County. WABASH VALLEY CHAPTER submitted by Ed Norris The last meeting was December 2 nd at the Boone County Government Annex Complex. Joshua Williams, Boone County, spoke about compliance and abatement orders when dealing with unfit housing. He distinguished between what a local health officer may do versus what he must do under existing law. The next meeting is scheduled for February 3 rd at the Fulton County Health Department in Rochester. EAST CENTRAL CHAPTER submitted by Stephanie Cain The Chapter was rescheduled for December 17 th in Randolph County at Wick s Pies. WEST CENTRAL CHAPTER submitted by Lisa Harrison The last meeting was on December 9 th at the Old Jail Inn in Rockville. Liana Retzner, ISDH, will finished up her presentation on pools. The next meeting is scheduled for February. The Chapter is setting up a training called Verbal Judo that will teach us how to deal with unpleasant people in the field. This training will be open for all IEHA membership. SOUTHERN CHAPTER submitted by John Kennard NO REPORT SOUTHEASTERN CHAPTER submitted by Todd Webb NO REPORT CENTRAL CHAPTER submitted by Kelli Whiting for Amber Collins The last meeting was December 16 th at Arnie s on 96 th Street. Adam entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting. Pat Sovinski moved that the meeting be adjourned, it was seconded by Ed Norris and passed unanimously.
