President Dr. John Kelly called the Special Meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education to order at 6:32pm, May 9, 2013, at the North Royalton Board Office. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. President John Kelly requested all present to join in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. 3. ROLL CALL. Present: President Dr. John Kelly, Vice-President Anne Reinkober, Heidi Dolezal, Barbara Zindroski, Leonard Reinhard. Superintendent Edward Vittardi, Treasurer Richard McIntosh, Director of Personnel Gregory Gurka, and Assistant Supt. James Presot were also in attendance. 4. WORK SESSION. Superintendent s Update Tari Rivera, of Regency Construction, the District s construction management firm reviewed the analysis completed in light of the results of the community survey on the November 2012 bond issue. The survey results indicated a higher level of community support for a bond issue that did not include a bus facility and a locker room facility. The consensus of the Board was that the administration should proceed with planning for a November 2013 bond issue with the same structure as the November 2012 bond issue less the bus and locker room facilities. Mr. Vittardi reported on the exit interviews he conducted with a number of graduating seniors. Mr. Presot reviewed the safety and security activities conducted with the staff on Election Day this week. Mr. Presot discussed House Bill 59 that is before the Legislature now. The bill would make several significant changes to transportation requirements and increase costs for every district. Mr. Presot reviewed the financial results to date of the Food Service program. Mr. Vittardi reviewed the issue of closing school for students on the primary election day in May. 5. EXECUTIVE SESSION. The Board adjourned to executive session at 8:31pm to discuss negotiations and employment of personnel. Moved by Reinhard Seconded by Zindroski Voting Aye: Reinhard, Zindroski, Dolezal, Reinkober, Kelly Motion Carried Dr. Kelly called the meeting back to order at 8:41pm. WORK SESSION (continued). Agenda Review The Board reviewed the regular meeting agenda. 6. ADJOURN. The meeting adjourned at 9:05pm.
