1 THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT CONGRESS Session XCII General Body Meeting 7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 23, 2014 Devon Hall 120 Session XCII Roll Call - Flag Salute Approval of Minutes Bourland Sec Sample Chair s Report- Aragon: One Campus One Book is starting net week, and they are really hoping everyone in congress gets involved this year. Filing is Oct 6-9 th, all new reps have to fill it out and turn it into Debbie by 4. Election board apps are now open and will open until Oct 1 st. new webmaster will be starting Monday so we will have updated web designs and logo. Be ready to see your face on congress website. RSO consulting has also officially started, for RSOs that are having problems; Eec has an RSO consulting team now. We officially have OU votes in the cafeteria, you can sign up for a slot to work it. We are hoping that a lot of you will get involved in that. Tell your friends about OU votes and remember it counts as your office hours. Vice Chair s Report- Byron: Legislative drive and legislative forum, look out for that. We will send out links to that on Thursday. If will provide a forum for you guys to talk about ideas in congress. It is going to have a lot of useful resources you might need. Sometime within the net month we want to plan a movie night if you want to help me plan that just come hangout with me after. We are bringing back beverages after congress. It will be at Fuzzys. If I didn t get you a name tag let me now and I will make you one. Secretary s Report- Sandoval: I will update your attendance soon and let you know where you stand as of now. Thank you for those that have ed me their RSO information and done office hours. Committee Reports- AA Pae: We had a very productive meeting this past Sunday, rep. Riley is working on legislation with the OU bookstore for potentially getting to charge items to the bursar. CA Byron: we are going to revise the emergency funding process I can give you more details net week. EA P&P Sample: we have a lot of ideas, like 8. We did not see a piece of legislation, we tabled it and I am ecited for you all to see it and have questions. PR WAM Cramm: We looked at subsidiary, interviews should be this Sunday and hopefully we will allocate by the following Sunday. Liaison Reports Special Orders Student Concerns Printing funded by SGA

2 Old Business Items to Be Considered An Act Amending Committee Appointments (Aragon)(Eec-Do Pass) Bourland sec Pae Aragon: Malik asked to be switched to WAM. We didn t see any problems with that. Cramm was in support of it. Malik: I feel that my skills are better suited to serve in the WAM committee Consent An Act Consenting to the Nomination of Election Chair (Allen)(Eec-No Rec) Sample sec Droege Bourland: are we seeking to table this bill? Aragon: we table once it s on the floor Sample: move to table this legislation for one week because the election chair nominee is busy Bourland: sec Aragon: Authors of the bill are busy, so we are postponing the bill if everyone is ok with it, there wasn t any objection to tabling it so yes? Tabled New Business Follow-Up Reports Sample: I love that some of us look really really classy. Aragon: Especially rep Skelton Items for Future Agenda Cramm: Emergency Allocation number three Byron: Emergency funding revisions Aragon: seal off the seal, if anyone wants to co sponsor that, we will ask to put chains around the seal so people don t walk on that anymore we are co authoring with GSS. Skelton: What is GSS? Aragon: They are our counterpart; they are actually supposed to have 100 members, so it is a much larger body then ours. Byron: works like the senate and house Skelton: Last year there was an option to buy SGA apparel will that be an option this year? Bourland: Yes we are looking at having shirts soon and potentially fleeces Searcy: are we going to be using a graphic designer or some type of contest? Bourland: the former A resolution requesting that spicy chik fil a be added to the chik fil a in the union Aragon: referred to P&P Byron: Items for future agenda is for legislation you want to write and see in the net week or two Announcements and Comments Bourland: so we are going to author that piece of legislation about the seal, in case some of you don t know what the situation is. It has been a long tradition to not walk on the seal at this University. Net week when you vote on a resolution requesting that the university put chains on that know that it is is important, just be thinking about that. Every person in this room has a responsibility and a job to be informed. Aragon: there will be a debate watch at seven in the Will Rogers Wed., don t forget about OU votes Skelton: Is the fuzzys thing a normal thing Aragon: It used to be at O Connell s Bourland: Would the vice chair be open to possibly moving that the Chimmys, being as happy hour is all day Tuesday Byron: Yes Skelton: Will both madam chair and vice chair take a picture with me after congress Byron: Yes George: I just want to clarify that the election chair is required to be here it s not a preference Printing funded by SGA
