MORTON COUNTY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING February 12, 2015 The Morton County Commission Regular Meeting was called to order on February 12, 2015 at 5:30 PM by Chairman Strinden at the Morton County Courthouse, 210 Second Avenue NW, Mandan, North Dakota. Others present were Commissioners Zachmeier, Boehm, Leingang, Schulz and Auditor Rhone, States Attorney Koppy and Assistant States Attorney Grosinger. Boehm moved and Leingang seconded to approve the agenda. All voting aye, motion carried. Boehm moved and Schulz seconded to approve the minutes of the January 27,2015 meeting. All voting aye, motion carried. Schulz moved and Leingang seconded to approve bills with the exception of the travel voucher for Tyler Bouma because of lack of detail. All voting aye, motion carried. Leingang moved and Boehm seconded to appoint Cody Schnabel as the County Weed Officer effective March 1, 2015 at a starting salary of $22.11 per hour. All voting aye, motion carried. Boehm moved and Leingang seconded to authorize the County Engineer to advertise for bids for metal and concrete culverts. All voting aye, motion carried Boehm moved and Leingang seconded to approve a gravel pit lease with KG3 Land Management at a rate of $1.25 per yard. All voting aye, motion carried. Boehm moved and Schulz seconded to approve out of state travel for County Engineer Aubol to attend the National County Engineers Conference on April 19-23, 2015 in Daytona Beach, FL. All voting aye, motion carried. Schulz moved and Leingang seconded to approve abatement # All voting aye, motion carried. Chairman Strinden opened the public hearing for the annexation of land to the Almont Rural Fire District at 6:00 PM. Grant Johnson and Ted Becker spoke in favor of the annexation. Chairman Strinden closed the public hearing at 6:09 PM. Schulz moved and Leingang seconded to approve the annexation to the Almont Rural Fire District as indicated on the petition and attached map. All voting aye, motion carried. Schulz moved and Zachmeier seconded to approve the renewal of the HUD Housing Assistance contract for 3/1/15 2/28/16. All voting aye, motion carried. Zachmeier moved and Leingang seconded to refer the invoice from Burleigh County back to the Morton County Social Services Board. All voting aye, motion carried. Schulz moved and Zachmeier seconded to pay the invoice from ND Department of Human Services for inmate medical claims. All voting aye, motion carried. Schulz moved and Boehm seconded to approve the revised Capital Asset Policy. All voting aye, motion carried. The total of all county funds expended from January 28, 2015 through February 12, 2015, equals $8,213, A detailed list of funds expended by check is available for public inspection anytime during regular business hours at the Morton County Auditor s Office.
