I hope everyone had a good 4 th of July and celebrated the founding of our great nation. There are many opportunities coming up for Riley County Republicans this summer and fall. This July 15 is our Coffee Talk at Vista Drive-In 9 to 10:30am. This is a time to meet and greet candidates, elected officials and your Republican Team! We have had some really good meetings at Vista. Come and join us! The end of July come join us at the Republican Fair Booth. The booth will be open Thursday, July 27 through Monday, July 31. Go to our website Rileyks.gop to sign up to help at the Fair. Simply click on the link to put your name on a day. Riley County GOP Fair Booth July 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 CICO PARK Non-partisan Manhattan city and school board elections are coming this Fall. It is important to get out the vote for those candidates that support our Republican Principles. Review our website at Rileyks.gop to read up on the Principles we believe and then make a note to attend a meeting hosted by our Equipping Committee for Volunteers Monday, August 7.

2 Other ways to be involved is giving financially - whatever you can donate to help our party win elections here locally and state wide. Our Facebook page: Riley County Republicans is another way to connect with fellow Republicans. I hope everyone has friended our Facebook account because there has been a lot of good general information put out with many interesting negative comments coming from non-republicans and so-called republicans. I use the term so-called republicans to refer to Democrats who register as republicans to simply try and cause mischief within the party. I think certain political tactics are unethical and this is one of them, but I digress. The latest discussion thread revolves around information taken from NPR and Pew Research Center on the potential of the scope of voter fraud. The scope is debatable, but the fact that voter fraud

3 exists is not. Democrats generally refuse to accept that voter fraud exists probably because it favors them at the polls so they try to discredit related discussions. Republicans know that voter fraud has been proven to exist, the only question is how much and how widespread it is. Republicans would like to study the issue to determine how widespread the problem is to help craft a solution and Democrats don t want to know. There are differences between the two parties we are not the same, but there are things that we can come together, cooperate, and work to solve. I believe that people of integrity, armed with the truth, even being of different political persuasions, can come together to resolve issues of governance. These laws are based on Common Law- Biblical Precepts- reflected in the Supreme Law of the Land, the Constitution of the United State. Laws enforced make people free to live, buy property, govern themselves, and flourish. This is America!

4 May 1 st Volunteer Training Workshop: THANKS to ALL who helped or came! Featuring Clay Barker, Hosted by the Equipping Committee On May 1, 2017, The Equipping Committee for Riley County Republican party hosted Volunteer Training with speaker Clay Barker, Executive Director of the Kansas GOP. The evening started 6:30pm in the Clover Room at Potorff Hall on the Cico Park Fairgrounds. Over 45 people were in attendance and Candidates for City Commission Kaleb James and Wynn Butler spoke on why they were running and issues facing our city. Past City Commissioner John Matta and Darell Edie, Local 383 School Board member, encouraged effective voter turnout and why it is important to run, as well as how to win. Holly Friesen spoke on voter outreach in our neighborhoods. It was determined face-to-face was top in effective outreach to voters. Sign up to help! Those who like phone calling, writing thankyous, invites, stuffing envelopes, walking precincts, hospitality and food service would like this committee. Monthly meetings such as Ladies.
