Visibility of Standing Rapporteurs for progress reports on Enlargement Countries Decision: to write a letter from the Chair to President Schulz requesting to consider future Commission progress reports under Rule 52 (under category d) "annual activity and monitoring reports" of Annex XVII of the RoP) rather than under Rule 123(2) of the Rules of Procedure, possibly through a modification to these Rules. 2. Exchange of views with recently appointed EU Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process Mr GTILINI, and EU Special Representative for Central Asia Mr BURIAN (in compliance with the Declaration Political Accountability) Decision: to hold exchanges of views with the newly appointed EUSR for the Middle East Peace Process, Mr GTILINI, and EUSR for Central Asia, Mr BURIAN in AFET during the coming months. 3. EP input to the 23 rd EU-Japan Summit on 29 May 2015 in Tokyo Decision: to send a joint AFET/INTA letter to the VP/HR and the Trade Commissioner drafted by AFET standing rapporteur, Mr PETERLE, jointly with the INTA rapporteur, Mr SILVA PEREIRA. The draft letter would be circulated to coordinators before being sent. 4. Partnership Agreements on Relation and Cooperation (PARC) with Australia and New Zealand Decision: to send a letter to the VP/HR requesting that the Council decisions on Signature and Provisional Application be referred to Parliament as soon as they will be adopted. Groups were requested to express their interest for monitoring rapporteurs for the two agreements before 16 April Conflict minerals Coordinators noted the letter - co-signed by the VP/HR and Commissioners MIMICA and MALMSTRÖM - co-addressed to the Chairs of AFET, INTA and DEVE, related to the "conflict minerals. Exchange of views with Mr DOUSTE BLAZY, Under-Secretary-General of the UN and special adviser on innovative financing Decision: to hold an exchange of views with Mr DOUSTE BLAZY in AFET in the near future in the context of the AFET own-initiative report on the reform of the UN. 7. Asbestos removal in the Square de Meeûs building (SQM) from 1 to 12 April Coordinators noted that due to asbestos removal in the Square de Meeus building (SQM) from 1 to 12 April, the AFET secretariat would have to work from a few temporary offices and that this might have some practical consequences on the level of secretarial output. II. DECISIONS A. AFET Programme of Activities: Delegations during the 2nd semester 2015 Decision: to request authorisation to the Conference of Presidents for the following missions 1- Outside the EU: - Ukraine and Georgia on July UNGA (with DROI) on 3-5 November Egypt on 3-5 November Inside the EU and candidate countries: - Serbia (and Kosovo) on September Berlin in preparations of the German presidency of the OSCE (starting in 2016) - date to be decided The change of date for the AFET mission to Iran (already authorised by the Conference of Presidents for June 2015) was also endorsed by coordinators. The new dates will be July B. AFET Programme of Activities: Hearings during the 2nd semester 2015 Decision: to schedule the following hearings in AFET during the 2nd semester 2015: EU relations with Iran following the outcomes of the E3+3 negotiations (after the AFET Delegation to Iran in July) Proxy wars and their impact in the MA region In this context, coordinators also decided: - to schedule an exchange of views in AFET on the situation in Yemen; - that the hearing suggested by Ms Manescu be organised by DMAS in association with AFET;

10 - to invite the VP/HR to report back on the results of E3+3 negotiations in July, in either the plenary or in AFET. ADDITION: Follow-up to the request made by shadow rapporteurs on the AFET own-initiative report on "The current political situation in Afghanistan" (AFET/8/ /2230(INI) rapporteur Ms Lösing) C.
