1 The Week Ahead February 2016 Delegations Turkey/refugees. Two delegations from the Budgets and the Civil Liberties committees will be in Turkey. Budgets MEPs will discuss the use of European pre-accession funds with Turkish authorities and investigate the use of EU support measures for refugees from Syria and Iraq, inter alia by visiting a refugee camp. Civil liberties MEPs will also visit a refugee camp and other refugee support projects as well as meeting Turkish interlocutors, international NGOs and other partners to assess the situation on the ground. (Monday to Thursday) Germany/refugees. The Women's Rights and Gender Equality Committee will send a delegation to Munich to meet Bavarian local authorities and visit a unit that places female refugees and another refugee camp to study reception arrangements for female asylum seekers. (Wednesday to Friday) Human trafficking. A delegation of the Security and Defence Sub-committee will visit an EU naval operation fighting human smugglers ("Operation Sofia") and meet the Italian Minister of Interior and Members of Parliament to discuss EU-supported operations tackling irregular migration and learn from Italy's experience in conducting such operations. (Monday to Wednesday) Saudi Arabia and Qatar. A Foreign Affairs Committee delegation will travel to Saudi Arabia and Doha, Qatar, to discuss EU-Saudi Arabian and EU-Qatari relations and the situation in neighbouring Arab states. (Monday to Wednesday) President's diary. President Schulz will pay an official visit to Tunisia, where he will meet President of the Republic Beji Caid Essebsi, Prime Minister Habib Essid and Parliament Speaker Mohamed Ennaceur. 2 Monday 08/02/2016 THE PRESIDENT'S DIARY The President's Official visit to Tunisia DELEGATIONS AFET delegation to Saudi Arabia and Qatar Riyad, Saudi Arabia and Doha, Qatar 8-10 February 2016 Elmar BROK (EPP, DE) will chair the EP delegation visiting Riyad, Saudi Arabia and Doha, Qatar. During the first part of the visit on 8-9 February, MEPs will meet in Riyad with high representatives of the Saudi Arabian authorities and with their counterparts of the Shura Council, the Constitutive Assembly of Saudi Arabia. They will discuss EU-Saudi Arabian relations, the political, economic and security situation in the Kingdom as well as the situation in neighbouring Arab states and Saudi Arabia's role in the region. The second part of the visit, on 9-10 February, will take place in Doha, Qatar where members of the AFET delegation will meet with the leadership representatives of the Qatar's monarchy as well as with the speaker of the Majlis as-shura, the Consultative Assembly of Qatar to discuss EU-Qatari relations and the situation in the region.
