The Little Store was operated by the Maness Family, local Ozona residents, for many years before the Richardson family bought the store in The store was remodeled in 2012 and opened later that year. Because we opened the latter part of 2012 we were not candidates for the Valero commitment to excellence. However, we did receive the silver level Left to right: Amanda Quiroz-Manager, Amy Quirozfor 2013 and 2014 and we received the gold level Assistant Manager, Kendra Martinez, Mary Held, award in 2015, 2016, and This is based on Monic Castro, Justice Adkins scores by a mystery shopper authorized by Valero to take pictures of our location in addition to answering multiple questions about our facility. The mystery shopper checks the cleanliness of the store, inside and out, evaluates our customer service, and makes sure shelves are stocked, said Amanda Quiroz, Store Manager. There are six of us that work very hard focusing on customer service for both the residents of Ozona and the many travelers we greet each day. We pride ourselves on having a clean facility, including the restrooms, said Amanda. Employees include Amanda Quiroz-Manager, Amy Quiroz-Assistant Manager, Mary Held, Kendra Martinez, Monic Castro and Justice Adkins. We carry a variety of beer, imported beer and wines. In addition we have a large selection of candy, chips, snacks, energy drinks, sodas, and sports drinks. We also carry phone accessories like chargers, cords and ear buds. Locals love our coffee so much they call us the local Starbucks. Of course the store also offers regular, unleaded and diesel at our filling station. The I-10 & 163 The Corner Store/Valero is looking forward to many more decades of serving the community of Ozona and we thank the residents for their continued support. The I-10 & 163 The Corner Store/Valero is located at th Street, and at the intersection of I-10 and Hwy. 163 N. The filling station is open 24/7. Store hours are 6:00 am 10:00 pm Sunday through Thursday, and open 6:00 am - 12:00 am Friday and Saturday. For more information you can contact Amanda Quiroz at 325/ Chamber Board Elects New Director and 2019 Slate of Officers During the September board meeting, Chairman Laurie Hale appointed a Nominating Committee to work to fill an open Board of Director position as well as prepare a Slate of 2019 Officers. Chamber By-Laws require this committee to be chaired by the Past Chairman, two board members and two non-board Chamber members. The committee was chaired by Past Chairman Paul Stroope, board members Amit Patel and Jacob Vasquez. Also serving on the committee were non-board members Susan Williams of the Crockett County Library and Frank Tambunga of Ozona Bank. The committee presented a Board of Director candidate to the board at the October meeting. The Chamber membership received a Notification of Nominee of the new candidate who was voted onto the board at the November meeting. Texas visitors-367, Out of State-177, Local-22, Foreign-12 -Year-to-date walk-in traffic is 6,265 -Traveling in October: East-319, West-180, North-21 and South-13 -Top visiting states for the month were-ca, NM, AZ, FL, LA -Top visiting cities for the month were-san Antonio, El Paso, Houston, Midland, Austin -Weekdays in order of the busiest in October were Monday, Friday, Thursday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday -Year-to-date Chamber related inquiries 11%, and Tourism related inquiries were 89% -Top requested items or services for the month were: restaurants, directions, fuel price inquiries Advertising -Year-to-date the Chamber has filled, in response to our advertising, 19,765 requests for information on Ozona. An additional 3,901 brochures have been handed out to walk-in visitors and mailed to statewide Travel Centers. What services are sought at For the month of October at there were 1,528 business directory searches, and 961 actual member page hits! These are people searching for YOUR services.
