2 President s Message David C. Loveless, CSI In this month s President s Message, I am going to deviate a little from typical CSI information. The health of our chapter is directly related to the health of our members. A few months ago, longtime active member Guy Cornett suffered a stroke. Since then two other people close to me have suffered strokes as well, including my father-in-law who suffered two strokes this past Friday. As someone who has his own cardiovascular issues, it very much brings to light that we all, in general, should take better care of ourselves. Looking at the American Stroke Association and American Heart Association s websites, there is a commonality in prevention topics. Exercise Stop Smoking Manage Cholesterol and Blood Pressure Manage Weight Stay Hydrated Manage Stress I only mention this as topic because I value each member of our chapter as a person, a professional and a friend. In CSI news, the Fort Worth Chapter is hosting the 2013 Fall Conference, September 12 14, at the Holiday Inn DFW. The registration cost is $110 per person and room rates are very reasonable at $89 a night. Please plan on attending. To register, please navigate to the Ft. Worth CSI web page ( and click on special event registration. The region is working hard to make the spring and fall conferences relevant to the region s needs and as informative as possible.
