1 Wolf enews March 26, 2018 ifest Coming Up Next Week Next week, Westside will celebrate the diversity of our school community with our second annual International Festival. Through art, poetry, food, music, and dance, we will present the many cultures and traditions of our students and staff. Each day, there will be special events or performances to showcase the medley of customs represented at Westside. The celebration will culminate with costumes being worn during the school day on Friday, and a dance on Friday night. 2 Page 2 Wolf enews A Win for Our Special Olympics Basketball Team Last Saturday, Westside s Special Olympics Basketball Team played in the Greater Houston Special Olympics Texas Basketball Tournament, which took place at Aragon Middle School. In the morning our Wolves got the win against the Katy Wolfpack and went on to take the championship title in the afternoon by defeating the Cypress Champions. Westside advances to the State Tournament later this spring. Congratulations and Go Wolves!

3 Page 3 Westside Tennis News Westside Tennis made a strong statement at the Lamar Consolidated Tournament last Friday. Left to right, Ruth Ferron won Consolation B Girls Singles, Elisa Rodriguez took home the first place medal in A Girls Singles and is undefeated so far this year, Mario Urdaneta won B Boys Singles, and Jordan Jovtchev came in second place in A Boys Singles. Way to go, Wolves! T-Pro Update Westside s T-Pro group had a great run presenting The Exception in the UIL One Act Play Competition. After clinching District 18-6A earlier this month, they were eliminated at Dulles High School on Saturday. Congratulations to the cast, crew, Mr. Wallin, and Mr. Nieves for your amazing work and for representing Westside so well!

4 Page 4 Westside Soccer Wraps Up Regular Season Westside Boys and Girls Soccer wrapped up their regular season games last week. They are gearing up for a Westside Soccer Playoffs Double Header on Thursday night at Langham Creek High School.
