Business Services Employee of the Month: Business Services is honored to recognize Tamara Torres, Administrative Assistant, as the Alvord Unified School District, Business Services Employee of the Month for June Tamara began her career with Alvord Unified School District in Since then Tamara has worked in the Records Department, Fiscal Services and currently she is the Administrative Assistant for the Business Services Department. Tamara is responsible for many important day-to-day operations as well as assisting employees with their retirement options offered through the Supplemental Employee Retirement Plan (SERP). Many retirees have expressed appreciation for Tamara s assistance, efficiency and her willingness to go the extra mile. Tamara always has a smile on her face, a pleasant demeanor and willingly assists everyone. Tamara s hard work and dedication to the Business Services Department is greatly appreciated. It is a great pleasure to recognize Tamara Torres as the Alvord Unified School District, Business Services Employee of the Month for June 2010.

Information Technology (IT) Employee of the Month: The Information Technology Department is honored to recognize Terry Baxter, Systems Integrator, as the Alvord Unified School District, Information Technology Employee of the Month for June Terry has been with the Alvord Unified School District for six years, first as a Technician II and currently serves the District as a Systems Integrator, working with the servers and PCs throughout the District. Terry is always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done. Staff and customers have come to rely on his many talents to make their systems work flawlessly. The District relies on Terry s expertise to keep our computer systems running on a day-to-day basis. Terry manages his many duties with steadfast efficiency and along with being detail oriented Terry displays excellent customer service skills. It is a great pleasure to recognize Terry Baxter as the Alvord Unified School District, Information Technology Employee of the Month for June c. Maintenance and Operations Employee of the Month: Maintenance and Operations is delighted to honor Robin Becker, Maintenance/Specialist Plumber, as the Alvord Unified School District, Maintenance and Operations Employee of the Month for June Robin started with the Alvord Unified School District in Robin s current assignment is Maintenance Specialist Plumber. Robin works very hard in this capacity for the District, providing behind the scenes repairs and assistance on many things that most people take for granted. Robin s hard work and dedication, is truly appreciated by all employees and students of the District. It is a great pleasure to recognize Robin Becker as the Alvord Unified School District, Maintenance and Operations Employee of the Month for June d. Purchasing/Warehouse Employee of the Month: The Purchasing/Warehouse Department is delighted to honor Alyssa Henderson, Clerk Typist II, as the Alvord Unified School District, Purchasing/Warehouse Employee of the Month for June Alyssa has been with the Alvord Unified School District for five years. Currently her responsibilities include working with clerical staff, administrators and vendors. Alyssa displays a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills and an ability to adapt to new challenges. She has a knack for completing assignments on time, even when under strict time constraints. District staff have come to rely on Alyssa s knowledge to ensure that conference requests are completed, services paid for and open purchase orders are processed. Alyssa was instrumental in the District s conversion to the Galaxy system and played a huge part in staff training sessions, assisting with the creation and preparation of the manuals distributed during these sessions. It is a great pleasure to recognize Alyssa Henderson as the Alvord Unified School District, Purchasing/Warehouse Employee of the Month for June 2010.

Approve Proposed Revisions to Board Policy and Administrative Regulation Entitled Interns : The Board of Education will review the proposed revisions to Board Policy and Administrative Regulation entitled Interns. Board Bylaw 9310 entitled Board Policies, allows the Board to waive the second reading and adopt the proposed revisions at this time. Business Services 9. Approve Voic Upgrade Cisco Unity System: Board approval is requested to purchase a Cisco Unity 8 voic upgrade based on the California Multiple Awards Schedule (CMAS) agreement for support and software updates needed to support the District s telephone system. Approve CER 8 (E911) Upgrade District Telephone System: Board approval is requested for the purchase of the Cisco CER (E911) upgrade for support and software updates needed to support the District s telephone system.
