1 CITY OF SOUTHLAKE TEXAS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES: SEPTEMBER 6, 2016 LOCATION: 1400 Main Street, Southlake, Texas Council Chambers in Town Hall CITY COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Laura Hill, Mayor Pro Tern Randy Williamson, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Shawn McCaskill, and Councilmembers Gary Fawks, John Huffman, Chad Patton, and Shahid Shafi. CITY COUNCIL ABSENT: None. Allen Taylor, and City Secretary Lori Payne. WORK SESSION: 1. CALL TO ORDER The Work Session was called to order by Mayor Hill at 5: 30 p. m. 2. INVOCATION Clayton Reed gave the invocation. Mayor Hill led the pledge of allegiance to the United States and Texas Flags. 3. LOCAL BUSINESS REPORT Assistant City Manager Alison Ortowski introduced local business owner, Dr. Kelli Chandler, who presented information on her business, Concierge Orthopedics.

2 Page 2 of SOUTHLAKE CARROLL THEATRE PRESENTATION Carroll Senior High School students and stage managers, Madeleine Louviere and Richard Rodenberg, presented information on their upcoming Tony Award winning production, Urinetown The Musical, with their opening date set for September 22, 2016, and running through September 25, PUBLIC SAFETY AND DISTRACTED DRIVING INFORMATION Police Chief James Brandon presented information to City Council on public safety and distracted driving. 6. DISCUSS ALL ITEMS ON TONIGHT' S AGENDA. NO ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AND EACH ITEM WILL BE CONSIDERED DURING THE REGULAR SESSION. Mayor Hill reviewed the consent agenda items. REGULAR SESSION: 1. CALL TO ORDER The Regular Session of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Hill at 6: 11 p. m. 2A EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Hill announced that City Council would be going into Executive Session pursuant to the Texas Government Code, Section , consultation with city attorney, and Section , deliberation regarding economic development negotiations. City Council adjourned for Executive Session at 6: 11 p. m. Executive Session began at 6: 24 p. m. and concluded at 7: 53 p. m. 2B. RECONVENE Mayor Hill reconvened the meeting at 8: 00 p. m. Mayor Hill asked if any action was necessary from Executive Session. There was no action necessary as a result of Executive Session. 3A.
