1 Shaping the Future EMA 2017 Fall Meeting October 25 28, 2017 The Mayflower Hotel Washington, DC

2 Greetings! Ron Wilson, Chairman National matters have been on the forefront this year with a new President, administration, and many new faces in Congress. Our attention has been focused on healthcare, tax reform, the budget and the debt ceiling. However, our mission and our goal is to focus on how these national matters Shape our Future. Periodically, EMA has a government themed meeting and while this meeting will also have subjects of interest for envelope makers, it will look at our future from a government relations point of view. We are pleased to be joined by key members of the Greeting Cards Associations Postal Affairs Committee who work beside us on Capitol Hill and with the Postal Service. We are honored to welcome Senator Claire McCaskill as our Opening Keynote Speaker. Senator McCaskill began her service in the Senate in She is the Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs and is very familiar with the Postal Service and its operations. She is also a member of the Armed Services Committee and the Senate Finance Committee. Senator McCaskill will speak about the current state of and prospects for postal reform in Congress. The Foundation Forum will feature the Honorable Mark Acton, Vice Chairman, Postal Regulatory Commission, and his key staff member, Alex Cooper, who will be briefing us on matters before the commission as they look into key issues influencing the future of the Postal Service. The Regulatory Commission plays a crucial role in reviewing key items of interest in the health and welfare of our postal system. We will close this meeting with a presentation from Barb Pellow, Group Director, Keypoint Intelligence, who will talk about the future of mail and specifically direct mail. Along with these three keynote presentations, there will be general sessions conducted by our key partners who will talk about the future direction of Postal Service legislative reform, actions we are taking to preserve and protect paper-based communication and the messaging we are doing to support those issues. On the Management and Technology side, you will hear presentations on digital printing from Hewlett-Packard and W+D. You will also hear an update on our new safety program and how paper shape, form and texture impacts response. We hope you will arrive early on Tuesday and join us as we visit with our elected representatives on Wednesday afternoon. Information is included in the meeting packet to assist you in making appointments with your Member of Congress. Government affairs representatives and staff will accompany you on these visits. See you in Washington, D.C., October 25-28, Thank you!
