10 Open Enrollment Open Enrollment currently set to sunset July 1, 2017; school year would be last year Senate Bill 1566 sponsored by Sen. Roblan, Sen. Thatcher and Sen. Knopp. As amended, would extend sunset to July 1, 2019; school year would be last year Commitment to discuss transfer system in 2017 Session

12 Charter Schools SB 1536 Increases percent of funding for charter schools Sent to interim workgroup for 2017 session HB 4091 Requires study of virtual charter schools Not moving this session

13 PERS SB 1519 Sen. Knopp (R-Bend) Makes numerous changes to PERS to help reduce the UAL and employer costs. Not going to be considered this session. HB 4022 Allows PERS retired speech pathologists to work for a PERS-covered employers more than 1,039 hours to address shortage.

14 EI/ECSE State program that contracts with local school districts, ESDs and institutions of higher education Provides services to children and families from birth to age five Currently not meeting service requirements Needs $5.2 Million
