3 Deadline for Chairs to Schedule Work Sessions for First Chamber Measures Policy committees must post agendas that schedule any remaining first chamber measures (House bills in the House, Senate bills in the Senate) for which they intend to hold work sessions by March 29. The scheduled work sessions must occur by the April 9 deadline below. This will not apply to Ways & Means, Revenue, Rules, and other joint committees. Bills in a policy committee that are not scheduled for a work session by this deadline cannot receive further action. April 9, 2019 Deadline for Committees to Hold Work Sessions on First Chamber Measures This is the last day for policy committees to move measures introduced in their chamber (i.e. Senate bills in the Senate, House bills in the House) out of committee. The deadline does not apply to Ways & Means, Revenue, Rules, and other joint committees. 4 Wallowa & Union County Legislative Update Schedule Set for 2019 Session Senator Bill Hansell (District 29) and Representative Greg Barreto (District 58) have partnered with the Wallowa Co. Chamber of Commerce, Union Co. Farm Bureau and OSU Extension Service to provide local constituents with updates during the 2019 legislative session via live video-conference connection to the Oregon State Capitol. The video conference series provides a timely opportunity to interact with our elected officials regarding proposed legislation of interest to you. Interested parties may participate in the sessions by attending in person either at the OSU Extension Service office in Wallowa County (668 NW 1st, Enterprise, OR, 97828) or at the OSU Extension Service office in Union County (10507 N McAllister Rd, La Grande, OR 97850). Each session starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 7:45 8:00 a.m. on the following dates: March 26 April 9 April 23 May 14 May 28 June 11 June 25 Please contact Debi Warnock ( ) in Wallowa County or Darrin Walenta ( ) in Union County with questions regarding the video conferences or with requests for additional information. BMCC Legislative Video Conferences The first and third Wednesday of each month from February through June, Sen. Bill Hansell (R-Athena) and Rep. Greg Barreto (R-Cove) will appear via video from Salem, where they're in the middle of a Legislative session. The meetings will be open to all, and participants can ask questions or air concerns, and discuss proposed bills with the legislators. The series of video conferences are held in the Boardroom in Pioneer Hall from 7-7:45am and are hosted by BMCC and the Pendleton Chamber of Commerce.
