1 COUNTY COMMISSION RECORD, CAMDEN COUNTY, MISSOURI WEDNESDAY 2/13/2019 The Camden County Commission met with Presiding Commissioner Greg Hasty, District #1 Commissioner Bev Thomas, and District #2 Commissioner Don Williams. Meeting Agenda Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve today s agenda as posted. Commissioner Williams seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Commissioner Thomas (Yes), Commissioner Williams (Yes). Session opened at 10:16 A.M. Prior Minutes Commissioner Williams made a motion to approve February 4, 2019 minutes. Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Commissioner Thomas (Yes), Commissioner Williams (Yes). New Business Sheriff B-Tester- Commissioner Thomas stated this is a grant from MODOT to purchase a breath alcohol instrument. Commissioner Thomas also stated this grant pays for the whole cost of the machine. Commissioner Williams made a motion to approve and accept the grant from MODOT for the breath analyzer tester. 4 Tax Abatements- Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve the following tax abatement as presented. Commissioner Williams seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Commissioner Thomas (Yes) and Commissioner Williams (Yes). Copy of abatements can be furnished upon request. The following abatements have been approved: Lake of the Ozarks Developmental Center R.E No $ Please refund and deduct from next month s settlement. Road & Bridge Tire Bid- Road and Bridge Administrator Lee Schuman made the following Recommendation: Various prices were submitted on numerous tires. We will accept low bids for, Tires from all bidders based on price and availability. Due to the vast variety models and sizes submitted by Goodyear and Hankook, the attached bid tabulation is not complete. Goodyear submitted their entire catalog of every model and size they produce. Tires will be purchased on a case-by-case basis in which the lowest price will be observed with the necessary availability. Camden County has done business with Jim's Tire Serv ice, McKnight Tire & Auto Center, Goodyear, Purcell Tire, and T&W Tire in the past with satisfactory results. Camden County has not done business with Wilson Industrial Tire, LL C. References will be checked in the event that Wilson Industrial Tire LLC is the lowest bidder. Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve the recommendation of the road and bridge Page 4 7

5 administrator. Commissioner Williams seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Commissioner Thomas (Yes), Commissioner Williams (Yes). Road & Bridge Dodds Camp Road Speed Limit- Road and Bridge Administrator Lee Schuman stated that a Camden County resident on Dodds Camp Road recently requested that the speed limit on Dodds Camp Road be posted. There are currently no speed limit signs until the Pearson Cove Drive s intersection. The posted speed limit is currently 25 mph, The Camden County road and bridge department believes this is too fast for the constricted corridor and narrow lane widths. Due to the horizontal alignments of the roadway, the Camden County road and bridge department recommends that the speed limit be established at Page 5 7

6 30 mph from Coffman Bend Road to Pearson Cove Drive, 20 mph from Pearson Cove Drive to 792 Dodds Camp Road, and 30 mph from 792 Dodds Camp Road to Adkins Road. There are also ten-curve warning and advisory speed signs that need to be posted at five locations along the 2.75 miles of roadway. Commissioner Williams made a motion to approve the recommendation of the road and bridge administrator. Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Commissioner Thomas (Yes), Commissioner Williams (Yes). Page 6 7
