Old Business: a. Supplement Changes: 1) Change No. 195P Striping and Signing Standard Plans 170 through 177 and 180 Motion to approve by Rod Elderton, second by Dave Mitchell, unanimously approved for inclusion into the 2012 Greenbook Standard Plans. 2) Change No. 209NS Warranty Period Clarification Motion to approve by Nelson Nelson, second by Greg Clayton, unanimously approved for inclusion into the 2012 Edition. 3) Change No 214S Labor Code and Workers Compensation Motion to approve by Rod Elderton, second by Greg Clayton, unanimously approved for inclusion into the 2012 Edition.

New Business 4) Change No 222NU Pipe Joint Gaskets Motion to approve by Greg Clayton, second by Rod Elderton, unanimously approved for inclusion into the 2012 Edition. 5) Change No 226P Block and Retaining Walls Standard Plans 601-4, and Motion to approve by Dave Mitchell, second by Rod Elderton, unanimously approved for inclusion into the 2012 Greenbook Standard Plans. 6) Change No 230NS Damaged Systems Motion to approve by Greg Clayton, second by Rod Elderton, unanimously approved for inclusion into the 2012 Edition. 7) Change No 232NS Pump Style Concrete Mixes and Combined Aggregate Gradation Motion to approve by Rod Elderton, second by Greg Clayton, unanimously approved for inclusion into the 2012 Edition. a. Co-Chairman s Report: 1) Erik attended the APWA Board of Directors meeting and luncheon on July 28. 2) Two upcoming Greenbook seminars are scheduled for September 22 at Corona City Hall and October 13 in Lakewood. 3) A plaque dedicated to Jerry Ellison for his many years of service to the Greenbook Committee was personally delivered by Erik. b. Secretary s Report: None c. Communication Report: None Updated Submittal Log distributed. d. Editorial Report: Lance reminded attendees that today s voting finalized the Changes approved for inclusion into the 2012 Edition. Bill Mahoney reminded Rod that he required all approved Changes to be presented in a Word file.doc format. e. New Materials and Methods Underground Subcommittee Report: Greg reported the following: 1) Meeting held on August 11, 2011 with no report. The next meeting of the New Materials Subcommittee-Underground will be on September 13, 2011 at 11:00 am at AGCC. f. New Materials and Methods Surface Subcommittee Report: Greg Clayton reported the following: 1) Asphalt Task Force meeting held on July 6, 2011: The Task Force spent the entire meeting working on the combination of and

5 The next Asphalt Task Force meeting will be on September 7, 2011 at the Orange County Facility at 1:00 pm. 2) Concrete Ad Hoc meeting held on August 11, 2011 with no report. The next Concrete Ad Hoc Group meeting will be on September 8, 2011 at 9:30 am at AGCC. 3) Subcommittee meeting held on August 16, 2011: Subcommittee is attempting to retrieve and review all outstanding Changes. Change No 217NS Benching is still be investigated. Change No. 196NS, 197NS and 198NS are being considered Editorial and will be submitted to the Editorial Subcommittee for consideration as such. Malcolm Smith of Bekaert submitted proposed Change and it was assigned No. 235NS. The Subcommittee is seeking a replacement for its secretary. The next meeting of the New Materials Subcommittee-Surface will be on September 13, 2011 at 9:30 am at AGCC. g. Specifications Subcommittee Report: Nelson Nelson reported the following: 1) Meeting held on August 17, ) Change No. 233S was reviewed and approved and will be forwarded to the Editorial Standards Subcommittee for review and comment. 3) Change No.234S was reviewed and will need more discussion before finalizing. 4) Subcommittee will begin review of 5-1 at the next meeting. The next meeting of the Specifications Subcommittee will be held on September 14, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. on-line with Go-To-Meeting and at the City of Corona and LACDPW. h. Standard Plans Subcommittee Report: Omar Moheize reported the following: 1) Meeting held on July 21, 2011, no report. The next meeting of the Standard Plans Subcommittee will be held (if needed) on September 15, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at AGCC, following the Greenbook Committee meeting. i. Special Provisions Guide Subcommittee Report: No report j. Editorial Standards Subcommittee Report: Erik reported the following: 1) Meetings held on August 17, ) Change No. 164NS is being cleaned up for review.

6 3) Change No. 195NS will be sent out to Specifications and WATCH for comments. 4) Change No. 175NS and 207NS are still under review. The next regular meeting will be on September 14 at 11:15 a.m. at L.A. County or via Go-to-Meeting. k. Green Materials Task Force: Don Vivant stated there is no report; however the Task Force will be initiating meetings again in the near future. l. Other New Business: 1) Bill Mahoney purchased a version of Go-To-Meeting with Nelson Nelson that is available for all Greenbook Subcommittee and Task Force meetings. Any Chair can initiate. Nelson will provide assistance on initial set-up and has been designated as the gate-keeper. 8. General Discussion: Nelson informed the Committee that the WATCH is being revitalized and reformed. It is currently being checked for compliance with the California MUCD and will be published right behind the MUCD publication date. 9. Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned at 10:03 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for September 25, 2011 at 9:30 A.M.
