8 Example: CT 09 No. 6 Study the following information: A political consultation system through multi-party cooperation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is a basic political system in China. It should be upheld in the long run and improved continuously. The Chinese People s Political Consultative Conference is a unique feature of Chinese democracy, as members from different ethnicities, religious, sectors and strata can express their opinions at the Conference. Such opinions become a consensus through the process of consultation, and are ultimately reflected in the Chinese government s policies. China does not have a non-ruling party or opposition party as in the West. The ruling CPC and the eight participating democratic parties adopt a CPC-led multi-party cooperation and consultation system. They will co-exist in the long run and supervise each other.
