2 Ch. 6,7,8 QUICKSTUDY GUIDE, READING, AND SPARK VIDEO ASSIGNMENT OK, so here we go. You will be creating 6 things to turn in PLUS your vocabulary. 3 quickstudy guides one for each of the chapters 6,7,8 Ms. Highfield will print them for you and you WILL be able to use them on the test which will be FEBRUARY 7 & 8 3 Spark videos-one for each chapter-no longer than 10 slides details will be given for the Spark Videos o AWARDS will be given for the following categories in each class: most original most humorous most thorough most creative BEST video best use of pictures best use of Spark best chapter question 3 interesting questions that address the chapter-one for each chaptero the questions must be original and cannot be like anyone else s Ms. Highfield WILL have the questions posted and you will write them on the group sheet so that questions will not be duplicated Your group must find ONE reading in your white book that goes with EACH of the three chapters that you will incorporate in your Spark videos. *OF CRITICAL IMPORTANCE: 1. VIDEOS and QUICKSTUDY guides are due no later than the end of the school day Friday, January You will receive a written physical receipt when you have successfully submitted each part of the assignment. THIS IS REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT! IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A RECEIPT THEN THAT PART OF YOUR GROUP s ASSIGNMENT WILL BE TURNED IN LATE. 3. Your group will be presenting your videos in class and voting will take place on Monday, January 30 and Tuesday, January Your vocabulary will be checked February 7 & 8 while you re taking the test. THE SPARK VIDEO ASSIGNMENT Go to and sign up for a free account. Once you have an account you may want to get the app (classes in the past have found the phone app may work better for the recording) it looks like this Your videos MUST include the following: a title slide with your group members last names and class period and Chapter audio narration reference to ONE reading in your white book that goes with your chapter (your choice) no more than 10 slides plus the title slide How do we turn in our videos? after your videos are done save them with the class period and one of your group members names download the videos create a google folder that you will put the downloaded files in o the name of the folder must include your class period and your group members names share the file with Ms. Highfield *You must read the article in your white book entitled, The Very Very Personal is Political and it WILL be included on the test.

3 You are going to create your own QuickStudy guides for Red Text Chapters 6, 7, 8 What is a QuickStudy guide? -they are laminated guides that are one-page (front & back) that cover a large amount of material -you ve probably seen them before here s what one looks like: you can include graphics AND you can include material from the outside readings (just make sure to mention the author and title of the article) they can be color-coded by subject/topic/etc You must send ALL 3 quickstudy guides to Ms. Highfield in ONE subject line must have class period and all group members last name must be in Word or.pdf format Google docs not accepted if it s not in the right format it will not be printed and you will not receive credit DUE DATE FOR ALL 3 TO BE ED TO Ms. H (with the names of ALL your group members in the subject line) is

4 INSTRUCTIONS 1. This is a GROUP project there can be NO MORE THAN 3 PEOPLE PER GROUP (1 chapter per person) 2. USE COLOR I will print them on a color printer. 3. You need to have 3 columns with lines in between the columns. (*directions for how to set up a Microsoft Word document with 3 columns and a line in between are below) you could also use Publisher 4. You need to 0.5 margins all the way around (**directions below) 4. You may not use any font size smaller than 9 (stick with Calibri or Arial as your font for the text you can use other fonts for the title or headers). 5. Make sure to include information from the ENTIRE chapter. 6.
