1 Committee: Futuristic Security Council Issue title: Combatting Egypt s Virtual Terrorism Submitted by: Vilma Illés, Deputy Chair of the FSC Edited by: Kamilla Tóth, President of the General Assembly Introduction Since 2018, the world has changed dramatically. The population increased rapidly and rose from 7.6 billion to 8.5 billion in just 22 years. To make sure everyone has enough supplies, factories had to speed up the production of goods. Meanwhile, greenhouse gas emissions increased, and the average temperature raised by 3ºC. Therefore, in 2025, the United Nations Environmental Programme, passed a resolution and prohibited the use of diesel and gasoline cars. By January 1st 2026, all diesel cars became banned and by January 1st 2030, the world succeeded in restricting gasoline cars as well. Because laws regarding transportation on land became stricter, the desire for port cities increased. All countries realized the fact that the more port cities they have, the more powerful they become, therefore in the start of 2031, the first war broke out when Poland attacked Bordeaux, one of France s port cities. Poland s victory encouraged other powerful countries to take a risk and invade rich port cities. Czech Republic invaded Cape Town as South Africa became weaker due to the lack of water, but failed to take over, Russia easily invaded Somalia and Eritrea, and Mexico invaded Malaga however Spain succeeded in maintaining a strong military and regained power over their city. Even the United Kingdom invaded Portugal, and a bloody war broke out for Lisbon. On the 22nd of September, 2033 the war ended with the United Kingdom conquering Lisbon. Meanwhile, Russia allied with Saudi Arabia and agreed to help in conquering the Suez Canal, forming the most powerful military in the whole world. Not much later, in May of 2034, Russia and Saudi Arabia took their agreements into action and attacked Egypt. Although Egypt was a powerful country, they did not have as strong military to win over the joint forces of Saudi Arabia and Russia. The rest of the world was left confused since there has not been a similar event where two countries like Russia and Saudi Arabia joined for such act when Russia barely benefited from it.

2 Definition of Key Terms UNEP Resolution This resolution was brought to the UN to prevent extreme global warming. Because of the increase in factory production, the use of cars and non-renewable energy, the temperature on Earth increased dangerously. Since no country took action on its own, the United Nations crafted a strict resolution which prohibited the use of diesel and gasoline cars, encouraged the use of public transportation, as all buses run on electricity, and many more. Although this resolution caused some issues couple of years later, it needed to be passed in order to prevent Earth from overheating. خوف Khawf or fear in Arabic is a virtual terror organization which only threatens the world through the internet and social media. In 2038, it became the most dreadful terror organization ever known. General Overview After Russia s coalition with Saudi Arabia, in taking over the Suez Canal, Egypt s economy crashed and went from one of the richest African countries to one of the poorest. Egypt seeks help of wealthier nations, hoping to restore a stable government. Canada and Japan agrees to help and supports Egypt with minimal financial aid. Australia wishes to remain neutral, but still decides to help Egypt by restoring old schools. USA and China resists helping due to the fact that they have to focus on stabilizing their own countries first. Since Egypt s economic and financial collapse, rebels rose for a change. The catalyser for this worldwide security issue was when a virtual terror organisation named,خوف with the help of the government hacked into secret security footages in South Korea, Russia, China and USA. They made all footages public with the aim of social insecurity. Furthermore, this rebel organisation threatened the countries mentioned above on a social media platform named Kommu to take over all schools in the previously mentioned countries as now all schools work with modern technology, if the countries do not solve the problem in Egypt by 2041.

3 Kommu is a communication platform where politicians can post and keep the world updated while anyone around the world may follow these posts, they cannot use it themselves. However, Khawf found a way to hack into this overprotected system and now can easily post anything it wishes. The targeted countries came together to find solutions to prevent this threat. However, since all countries agreed that Saudi Arabia should keep the Suez Canal strictly for their own benefit and not to come to an agreement with Egypt, not much could be done. Exactly a year before the deadline the terror organization has set for these countries, another post showed up on Kommu which read that if they Do not clean up [their] mess, all presidents lives will be in danger along with all the children who go to school. [The countries] have exactly one year to fix this issue. This post quickly spread throughout the world, and all member nations in the United Nations came together to find solutions to save innocent lives. Major Parties Involved: Party 1: This party consists of countries which stand on Russia s and Saudi Arabia s side. They either share the same beliefs, perspectives, or have allied with one of the countries previously. The countries which belong are South Korea, China, USA, Afghanistan, Iran, Mexico and Germany. These countries believe that all member states should respect the result of the war, should not help Egypt as they could not defend their property. Party 2: The countries in this party support Egypt. They have either supported Egypt with aid, or feel that Russia have other, more dangerous purposes which explains the fact why they allied with Saudi Arabia. These countries may also support the terrorist group as the destruction of the countries targeted by خوف could lead to their benefit. Japan, Spain, Canada, Brazil, South Africa, and Spain belong to this party.

4 Party 3: The last party concerns all countries who wish to remain neutral. They do not want to interfere. Some of these countries face with their own difficulties, some do not have enough financial aid to get involved, and some do not have a powerful military. The countries which chose this stance are Czech Republic, India, Poland, France, and Australia. 5 2034 May 24 Saudi Arabia and Russia attacks Egypt with the goal of taking over the Suez Canal 2035 July 25 Egypt lost the Suez Canal to Saudi Arabia and Russia 2035 September 8 Egypt seeks help from other countries 2035 December 2 A virtual terror organization, خوف (Khawf), was founded 2037 March 23 The virtual terror organization with the help of the government hacked into important security footages in South Korea, Russia, China and USA 2037 خوف March 25 releases these footages on the internet causing insecurities in the affected countries Now خوف is known all around the world as the vast terror organization in the world 2038 July 2- This virtual terror organization threatened South Korea, Russia, China and USA to hack into all of the school servers and take over the schools if they do not make a change before January 2, South Korea, Russia, China and USA tries to come up with ways to stop خوف and Egypt, however these ways are rather weak 2040 خوف January 2 gives a final warning to Russia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, USA and China on Kommu

6 Previous Attempts to Solve the Issue Not much has been made to approach this issue as neither targeted countries wished to sacrifice anything to prevent the death of their people. The only thing the countries agreed upon was that they would not attack Egypt under any circumstances in any ways. However, this was not enough for Egypt as it still could not fix the problem they landed in after the loss of the Suez Canal. Egypt continues to seek financial help from any member state, yet seems to stand alone in the issue, since countries barely aid them, if they aid them with any financial help. Possible Solutions and Approaches Delegates, our time is short. We have come together to find ways to save many innocent lives of both children and adults. Here are some guiding questions: Why did Russia agree to help Saudi Arabia even though they barely benefit from it? In what ways can Egypt restore its government and economy?
