2 Benefits Committee Responsible for: Soliciting ideas for new benefits from member groups Developing new benefits that are of interest to APCUG s member groups

3 Benefits Committee Benefits offered to member groups: October November December 2016 Hard Drive Sentinel offered a 40% discount on their five-copy lifetime license as well as the single copy lifetime license User Group Relations offers a ½ price discount on Acronis True Image and Acronis Disk Director Have a security presentation by Bob Gostischa & Avast offers a discount Sticky Password gives us a 40% discount on their Pro password program

4 Don Singleton Volunteer of the Year Volunteers are the backbone of APCUG and its member groups; they are what keep their clubs viable. User group volunteers have this in common: enthusiastic about technology and dedicated to helping their group. Don Singleton was a key member of APCUG s leadership team for many years VOTY was established, in his name, to recognize the importance of volunteers to APCUG s member groups.

5 Don Singleton Volunteer of the Year Groups nominate one of their volunteers they want to recognize and honor. Three judges objectively evaluate candidates against the selection criteria Recipient is announced in January and a plaque is awarded at a meeting. The next Don Singleton Volunteer of the Year will be recognized in 2018

6 PUSH Articles for Your Newsletter The PUSH committee is responsible for compiling articles and/or reviews of interest that are sent to member group editors throughout the year to be used in their newsletters. Member group editors are encouraged to submit their members original articles to be included in PUSH. Articles may also be found in member group newsletters for reprinting Columnists / websites have agreed their articles may be reprinted in member group newsletters

7 PUSH Articles for Your Newsletter The PUSH article includes a short description of the articles and, as requested by editors, word count. Editors who have page newsletters have a quick way to select short articles or other editors to select a short article for to fill a space in their newsletter, etc. Articles are uploaded to group websites Link to the.zip file on group s website Editors use one or two articles in their newsletter Newsletters are all PUSH articles

9 Virtual Technology Conference The Virtual Technology Conference committee is responsible for planning and implementing four quarterly VTCs. Each VTC has two Tracks with three 50-minute presentations. These presentations give group members the opportunity to enhance their skills and introduce them to new technology, as well as offer sessions with information for operating a user group all from the comfort of their own home.

10 Virtual Technology Conference VTC videos are uploaded to APCUG s YouTube channel for groups to use as meeting presentations. PDFs of the presentations and handouts are uploaded to APCUG s website. Since 2012, there have been approximately 145 unique presentations 2016 & over 6,000 views
