1 The Voice IVR Voting Terms and Conditions About the Voting Service 1. These Terms govern the Voice Voting Service. Lodging a Vote for and Artist competing in The Voice Australia 2016 is deemed acceptance of the Terms. 2. A number of Artists will compete with each other in The Voice ( Program ) produced by Endemol Shine Australia Pty Limited ( Producer ) for broadcast on the Nine Network ( Broadcaster ) to be the winner of the Program. 3. Voting is open to all residents of Australia. Voters under the age of 18 years at the time of voting must have parental/guardian consent prior to casting each Vote. Voting Periods 4. The voting will open at the end of each Program beginning from the Program broadcast on Monday 13 June The opening time will be announced in Program each week. 5. The voting will close at the commencement of each Program beginning from the broadcast of the Program on Sunday 19 June Program start times will be promoted by the Broadcaster and available in TV Guides. 6. Voting for the Program will be available for five (5) weeks from Monday 13 June Voting Periods are subject to change at the discretion of the Producer and Broadcaster. 8. It is the responsibility of each voter to ensure they cast their Votes within the Voting Periods. Voters who submit a vote by any valid means outside the Voting Period/s will be charged for their message (IVR). The Producer and Voting Service Providers accept no responsibility or liability for any costs incurred by voters who cast Votes outside the Voting Periods. Voting Charges 9. Each Vote cast by calling is charged at $0.55 incl. GST fixed (Mercury Mobility Helpline Calls to the 1902 number from mobile phones/payphones may incur higher charges. 10. Premium Services must be enabled on landlines/mobiles to access the 1902

2 voting number and can be enabled by the voter s telecommunication provider. 11. Each Vote cast via The Voice Mobile App may incur data and/or Internet charges by the voter s telecommunications or Internet service provider and are the responsibility of the voter. Maximum Number of Votes 12. Voters may cast as many Votes as they like by calling 1902 number during each Voting Period. Voting Mechanics 13. Voters may cast votes by: a) Calling ($0.55 per call. Mercury Mobility Helpline ) then using the voter s telephone keypad to enter the two (2) digit code associated with the Artist they wish to vote for. b) Downloading The Voice Australia app from the App Store or Google Play Store and selecting the Artist they wish to vote for. Data and download charges may apply. 14. To cast a Vote by calling the 1902 number, voters must have a landline or mobile phone account with a telecommunications service provider recognised by the Producer with access to 19 Premium Services to allow the voter vote by calling the 1902 number. It is the responsibility of the voter to check with their provider for access to 19 Premium Services. Voters under the age of 18 must have the prior consent of the landline or mobile phone account holder before lodging a vote. 15. Votes are deemed made at the time each Vote is received by the Voting Service Provider in its database and not at the time sent by the voter. The Producer and the Voting Service Providers accept no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected Votes due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason. Voting Results 16. The Producer and the Voting Service Providers reserve the right to keep all voting results confidential. Other than the Vote Results required to maintain the format of the Program, Vote Results will not be made available to the public. 17. In the event an Artist is no longer able to participate in the Program or chooses at any time to exit the Program, voting for this Artist will cease.

3 General Terms 18. In the case of an excessive number of votes received from a single user, the Producer and the Voting Service Provider reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to contact the excessive voter as part of the vote qualification process to ensure voting is in accordance with these terms and conditions. The Voting Service Provider may contact the excessive voter using their registered mobile or fixed line telephone number automatically registered at the time of submitting their 1902 Vote or in app vote. 19. The use of any automated software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permits the user to automatically vote repeatedly are not valid and will not be accepted, and may at the Producer s complete discretion render all votes submitted by that voter invalid. 20. The Producer reserves the right to amend the Terms at any time throughout the Voting Periods and the Program. 21. The Producer may cancel voting for the Program at any time for any reason. 22. Users acknowledge that any votes that are discounted, invalidated, or disqualified, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions will be done so at the absolute discretion of the Producer and will still be subject to the charges and costs outlined in these Terms and Conditions. 23. If for any reason the Voting Services are not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Producer, the Broadcaster or the Voting Service Provider, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Voting Services, the Producer, the Broadcaster and the Voting Service Provider reserve the right to take any action that may be available to reach a final voting result from any and all legitimate voting data available. 24. Except for liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Producer (including its officers, employees and agents) and the Broadcaster excludes all liability for personal injury, loss and damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the voting. 25. The Producer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Producer has reason to believe has breached, or not fully complied with, any of the Terms, tampered with the voting process, or engaged in any unlawful or other

4 improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the Promotion. The Producers legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved. 26. At its sole discretion, the Producer may eliminate or disqualify any Artist at any time from the Program. The Producer s decision in this matter is final and no correspondence will be entered into. In this event, voters acknowledge that if the Artist for which they have voted is eliminated or disqualified the Votes made in relation to such Artist will not count in determining the Artist s progress through the Program. 27. All Votes become the property of the Producer. 28. FREE IN APP VOTING FAQS The Voice App Voting Go to The Voice Website ( and click on the App tab at the top of the web page. Scroll down the page to the link to download the App from the App Store or Google Play, or search The Voice in the App Store or Google Play. Downloading the App and voting using the App may incur download/data charges. 1. How do I get free votes? If you have the correct version of the ios app, when you go into the voting section you will be prompted to authenticate your device using your Apple ID in order to receive votes. You will only have to do this once per device and you will not be charged. Registration is used solely to enable you to receive your free votes per device. With the Android version, authentication occurs automatically. Free votes will

5 automatically appear in the app as voting starts in the show. 2. How much does it cost to vote using the app? This year it s free to vote for an Artist in The Voice Australia ( Program ) via the app. Data charges may apply, please check with your network provider for details. 3. How many free votes will I get? With the exception of Instant Save voting events, each eligible device will receive a minimum of four free votes per voting event. A Voting Event commences when voting opens until it closes as announced in-program or via other Program related media. A Voting Event may span more than one episode of the Program, for example voting may open at the end of the first episode and then close in the episode the following week. Voting times are subject to change and may not be the same each week. Any changes will be communicated to viewers as part of the broadcast of the Program or via other Program related media. With Instant Save voting events, each eligible device will receive one free vote per voting event. 4. I have downloaded the app but can t see any votes. Why? There are 5 main reasons why you may be unable to see votes: a) It s too early Votes will only appear on eligible devices when voting starts in the Program. b) Your device is not eligible Your devices must be linked to an Apple or Google Play account. You can have a maximum of four devices linked to each Apple or Google Play account. These should

6 all receive free votes per Voting Event. Any further devices will not receive free votes. c) Your 3G or internet connection may have dropped If your device is eligible and voting has started but no votes are showing, your 3G or internet connection may have dropped at the point we gave you your votes, try moving to a different location and then force the app to close: On Apple devices: 1. Double-click the Home button. 2. Swipe left or right until you have located The Voice app. 3. Swipe the app up to close it. Then re-open the app and your votes should now be showing. On Android devices: Go to Settings then Application Manager. Scroll down until you find The Voice, tap on it and choose Force Stop Then re-open the app and your votes should now be showing. a) There has been a technical error In the unlikely case that a technical error occurs then an information message should appear in the app. If there is no obvious reason for the error then please voiceauvote@shineaustralia.com. b) You have used up your free in app votes Each device will receive a number of free votes per Voting Event. Once you have cast all your free in app votes, you will be prompted to use The Voice Australia IVR voting system if you would like to continue to vote for your favourite Artist.

7 5. I have votes but cannot cast them. Why? There are 3 main reasons why you may be unable to cast your vote: a) The vote is closed Full details of when you may cast your vote will be announced in-show. You will only be able to vote whilst the voting period for each Voting Event is open. It is not possible to cast your vote at any other time. b) You do not have a strong enough WIFI or 3G/4G signal You will need a strong, constant WIFI or 3G/4G signal to go through the voting process, otherwise you may experience error messages. We don t recommend voting whilst on the move as your signal strength may vary. c) There has been a technical error In the unlikely case that a technical error occurs then an information message should appear on the app. If there is no obvious reason for the error please contact the 6. Can I use my votes in other programs? No. Votes can only be used for The Voice Australia Can I rollover votes to the next day/other shows? No. You can only use free votes for that particular Voting Event. After each Voting Event has closed, shortly afterwards any unused votes will be removed from your app. Votes for a new Voting Event will appear in your app the next time voting opens.

8 8. Can I move my votes between devices/on to a new device? You cannot move unused votes between devices. 9. What happens to unused votes if I delete the app? If you delete the app, you can download it again and you will still have your remaining votes as long as you log back in with the same Apple ID or Google Play account details. PREMIUM IVR VOTING FAQS Where can I see the voting terms and conditions? The full Viewer Voting terms and conditions are available on The Voice Voting website ( How do I vote? 1902 Phone Voting There is one number to call to vote for a Artist, which will be broadcast in the Program. Check the two (2) digit code associated with the Artist you wish to vote for, then call *. You will hear a recorded message inviting you to use your telephone keypad to enter the two (2) digit code to vote for your favourite Artist. *Mercury Mobility Pty Ltd $0.55 fixed. Mobile calls to 1902 extra. Voting opens at the end of each episode of the Program and closes at the start of the following episode of the Program or as otherwise advised by the Producer or Broadcaster. The Live Shows will commence on Monday 13 June 2016, and will go to air following

9 that every Sunday starting from Sunday 19 June Dates and times for open and closing of voting will be announced in Program each week. Terms and conditions are available on The Voice Voting website ( Who can vote? Anyone living within Australia can cast his or her vote. I am thirteen years old, can I still vote using the 1902 numbers? If a voter is under 18 years of age they must have the prior approval of the telephone/mobile phone account holder prior to lodging a vote. When does voting commence? Voting will commence at the end of each Program commencing on Monday 13 June 2016, then on the date and time promoted in the Program each week. When does voting end? Voting will end, after a week, each following Monday night at the commencement of the Program unless otherwise notified as part of the broadcast of the Program. Voting times are subject to change and may not be the same each week. Any changes will be clearly communicated to viewers as part of the broadcast of the Program. How much will I be charged for each 1902 telephone call / vote? Each call to the 1902 number will be charged at $0.55 including GST. Calls from

10 mobile phones/payphone may be charged at a higher rate. How many votes does each call register? Each call to registers ONE vote for your nominated Artist. How do I use the 1902 service? Provided you don t have 1902 number barring on the telephone account, and you have access to Premium Services, you can dial and use your keypad to enter the two (2) digit code assigned to the Artist you wish to vote for once prompted. The two (2) digit codes assigned to Artists will be promoted in the Program and on the website. What happens if I have 1902 barring? If you have 1902 barring then the telephone line you are calling from does not allow for 1902 calls to be made. To check this, call (free call) and you will be advised of your barring status. How do I get 1902 barring removed? The phone account holder will need to call their phone carrier and request for the barring to be removed. This may not be possible in the case of pre-paid customers, and some smaller carriers. How do I know that my vote has been registered? Once you have made the call, you will hear a recorded message confirming that your vote has been registered. What information do I need to provide in order to register a valid vote?

11 All you need to do is simply dial the 1902 number that corresponds with your favourite Artist during the Voting Event, enter the two (2) digit code assigned to the Artist you wish to vote for, to register a valid 1902 telephone vote. What happens if I call the voting line when voting has closed? You will hear a recorded announcement advising you that your vote has not been registered. You will still be charged for any call placed during the closed voting period/s. I heard an engaged signal when I called, will I still be charged and did my vote register? The voting lines are very popular, so you may hear an engaged signal. If you do, please call again as your vote would not have registered. You will not be charged if you hear an engaged signal. I saw the voting number and 2 digit codes advertised on the show, but when I called the recorded message advised me that voting was currently closed. The voting number is on screen with the two (2) digit code assigned to each Artist so you can write the numbers down as each Artist performs. The voting lines won t open until the end of each live episode of the Program (AEST), THEN at the time notified to viewers as part of the broadcast of the Program (AEST) each week commencing from Monday 13 June There will be an announcement toward the end of the Program advising when voting lines are open. Can I vote in any other way other than 1902? Yes, you can vote using The Voice Australia app. How do I find out which Artist will be eliminated? The elimination will be announced during each live Sunday night episode of the Program, commencing Monday 19 June 2016.

12 GOOGLE VOTE FAQs You will be able to cast votes for your favourite Artists via the Google Search app. How do I vote? Google Search Voting: If you have a valid Google account, you can vote using Google Search. Simply open the Google app and search The Voice Australia Vote or The Voice Australia. This search will prompt the Google Voting Module to appear with the images of the contestants. To be able to submit vote(s), you must be logged in to the module with a valid Google account. If you do not already have a Google account, you will need to create one before being able to vote using Google Search. To vote you may select the contestant(s) you wish to vote for and submit no more than 4 votes per valid Google account ID per Voting Show. Who can vote? Google Search Voting: Anyone with a valid Google account and located within Australia will be able to cast their vote(s) using Google Search for THE VOICE AUSTRALIA Users located outside of Australia will be able to access Google Search Voting, however, their votes will not be counted. When can I vote? Google Search Voting: will be available in the LIVE phase of The Voice Australia commencing from Monday 13 June Viewers will be able to submit up to 4 votes per valid Google account ID per Voting Show. How many times can I vote? Google Search Voting: You may cast up to 4 votes per valid Google account ID per Voting Show via Google Search Voting. How much does it cost to vote? Google Search Voting: Voting via Google Search is free except for your standard

13 internet access charges or data charges if you are using a web browser on your mobile device. How do I know my vote has been counted? Google Search Voting: If you are using Google Search Voting, you will receive a thanks for voting confirmation message page after your vote(s) are successfully cast. Only your first 4 votes per Voting Show will count. Note, if you cast votes during broadcast of a Voting Show for a contestant who is already eliminated, any votes cast for them will not be counted as valid. Is Google collecting personal information through Google Search Voting? The information Google collects from its signed in users is set forth in the Google Privacy Policy which can be found at How do I vote using Google Search? Voting using Google Search is available to Google account holders located in Australia. During the active Vote Window simply go to Google and search The Voice Australia Vote or The Voice Australia and you will see a voting module with the images of all the contestants up for vote that Voting Show. To submit votes, you must be logged in with a valid Google account. If you do not already have a Google account, you will need to create one before being able to vote using Google Search. To vote, select the image of the contestant for whom you wish to vote and you will be presented with a page showing the contestant image and a slider so that you can add votes. You may allocate up to 4 votes per Voting Show, per valid Google account. Once you have allocated how many votes you wish for a particular contestant, select the continue button. You will then be taken back to the grid with all the contestants. You may vote for as many or as few contestants as you wish, subject always to the cap of 4 votes in total per Voting Show. Once you have allocated votes and are ready to submit, select the Submit Votes to The Voice Australia button. If successful, you will be taken to a page confirming that your votes were submitted. From there, you may select to (1) Continue voting, (2) Share on Google+, (3) Share on Twitter (4) Share on Facebook or (5) View some of The Voice Australia content links on the page. Can I vote using an anonymizing web proxy service for The Voice Australia?
