6 1.0 EDS Overview The Electrnic Dispsitin System (EDS) is a web applicatin which clients use t submit applicatins related t surface dispsitins t the department f Alberta Envirnment and Parks (AEP) and t the Alberta Energy Regulatr (AER). EDS cmprises three main categries f services; and thse in turn expand t ptins as shwn belw: Applicatin Prerequisites: First Natins / Metis Settlements Cnsultatin Submissins - Submit a Pre-cnsultatin Assessment Request, Adequacy Assessment Request, respnd t a request fr infrmatin, and view the status f yur submissin fr CEP, DLO, DML, DMS, DPI, DPL, EPC, EZE, FAC, GEO, LOC, MLL, MME, MSL, OSE, PIL, PLA, RDS, REA, REC, RLC, RVC, SMC, SME, SML, TFA, VCE and WAC purpses. Applicatin Supplement - Generate an Applicatin Supplement dcument t be upladed as part f an Applicatin/Amendment submissin fr dispsitins n public land fr DLO, DML, DMS, DPI, DPL, EZE, LOC, MLL, MSL, PIL, PLA, REA, REC, RVC, SMC, SME, SML and VCE purpses. 8 2.0 Submitting a Renewal Applicatin in EDS The EDS Renewals Submissins cmpnent implements the Public Land Administratin Regulatin (PLAR) and allws dispsitin hlders t submit applicatins t renew their dispsitins t either Alberta Envirnment and Parks r the Alberta Energy Regulatr (AER). The renewal system implements a renewal ntificatin system which ntifies hlders f AEP managed activities f impending expiry, nce at tw years befre expiry f a dispsitin, and a secnd time at 18 mnths. Hlders f dispsitins administered by the AER d nt receive ntificatins; the hlders f AER managed dispsitins must mnitr their activities expiry and apply fr renewal accrdingly. Renewal applicatins may be submitted nly if: there are n changes t the dispsitin, the dispsitin already has a valid plan f survey n file, and the dispsitin has a site entry n recrd Dispsitins listed fr renewal where changes have ccurred t the apprved surveyed bundaries r t the apprved purpse type must be submitted as an Amendment applicatin. Amendment applicatins which are half-way thrugh their term may request a renewed term t be applied t the dispsitin being amended and the regulatry bdy may grant a full renewal term. 2.1 EDS Main Menu T submit a renewal request, navigate t EDS Renewals frm the EDS main menu. 9 2.2 Renewal Applicatin Screen On the Renewal Applicatin screen enter the applicant s Client ID and click Next. EDS validates the Client ID and n the fllwing page, EDS will display activities fr which the client is listed as service client. Figure 2.2 Reclamatin Applicatin Client ID screen 1. Enter the applicant s client id. 2. Click Next. 2.3 Renewal Applicatin Uplad Screen The Renewal Applicatin Uplad screen displays three main sectins: cntact infrmatin, Fund Dispsitins, and New Dispsitins. The Fund Dispsitins table shws activities fr which ntificatins have been sent. T submit a renewal request fr ne f the activities under Fund Dispsitins, uplad a statutry declaratin, and d s fr every activity yu wish t renew. On the ther hand, the New Dispsitins sectin allws renewal submissins fr activities fr which ntificatins have nt been sent. T submit thse, enter a dispsitin number and uplad a statutry declaratin. Renewals cannt be requested fr dispsitins where the cmpany is struck, cancelled, in receivership, r bankrupt. Dispsitins fr which renewal requests are submitted must be at minimum past half their term and cannt have a renewal fr the same dispsitin already in prgress (which has nt been rejected), and the surface activity must be entered and nt have a recrd f n-entry n file Gvernment f Alberta Page 9 f 13

EDS displays cntact details n file fr submitter and fr applicant. 2. The Fund Dispsitins sectin displays activities which are eligible fr a renewal applicatin and fr which a ntificatin has been sent t the service client (the checkbxes under the Ntificatin Issued clumn indicate if the tw (2) year r 18 mnth ntificatins have been sent). 3. The activity numbers are listed autmatically in the Fund Dispsitins sectin Gvernment f Alberta Page 10 f 13

11 4. T submit a renewal applicatin fr ne f the activities in the Fund Dispsitins sectin, uplad a crrespnding statutry declaratin. Repeat fr every activity in the Fund Dispsitins sectin yu wish t renew. 5. The New Dispsitins sectin allws users t submit renewal applicatins fr activities which are eligible fr renewal but fr which neither a tw year nr an eighteen mnth ntificatin has been sent yet. 6. T submit a renewal applicatin fr an eligible activity that is nt listed in Fund Dispsitins, enter its activity number under the Dispsitin Number clumn in the New Dispsitins sectin. 7. Uplad a crrespnding statutry declaratin. 8. Click Next t prceed. EDS will make the fllwing checks and display errrs in case f failure: a. The dispsitin expiry date cannt be greater than half the term frm the current date the dispsitin must be past half its term; b. The dispsitin cannt have a pending renewal request (thugh rejected requests may be reapplied fr); c. The surface activity must nt have a recrd f n-entry; d. The dispsitin must have a recrd f site entry and its latest active plan must be a survey; 2.4 Renewal Applicatin Cnfirmatin Screen The Renewal Applicatin Cnfirmatin screen displays all infrmatin entered at the Renewals Applicatin Uplad Screen fr user t cnfirm: 2018 Gvernment f Alberta Page 11 f 13

13 2.6 Renewal Applicatin Cnfirmatin f Submissin Screen After the submissin has been successfully accepted, EDS displays the final cnfirmatin screen.
