All highlighted items are thse which have been added/changed since the last re-registratin perid REGISTERED STUDENT ORGANIZATION LEADERSHIP TEAM Drafted n: April 25, 2013 Article One Article Tw Article Three NAME OF ORGANIZATION The name f this rganizatin shall be Registered Student Organizatin Leadership Team, herein referred t as RSO Lead Team. PURPOSE OF ORGANIZATION MEMBERSHIP The purpse f this rganizatin is t advcate fr and prvide help and guidance t Registered Student Organizatins at Gerge Masn University, as well as student grups seeking the fficial establishment f an rganizatin n campus. The missin f the RSO Lead Team is t prmte cllabratin amng student rganizatins while facilitating the develpment, maintenance, and transitins f RSOs. Membership in this rganizatin will nt be restricted n the basis f race, clr, religin, ethnicity, natinal rigin, physical r mental disability, sexual rientatin, veteran status, gender identity, gender expressin, sex, r age. The qualificatins fr membership in this rganizatin are as fllws: Must be currently enrlled at Gerge Masn University Must maintain a minimum f a 2.5 Grade Pint Average t maintain membership in the rganizatin Must be a current member f anther Registered Student Organizatin at Gerge Masn University Must be able t cmmit a minimum f 10 hurs per week t the rganizatin Must be able t attend weekly general bdy meetings Types f membership: Active Currently enrlled GMU students wh attend meetings, rganizatin functins, and pay dues. Only active members may vte n matters directly affecting the rganizatin and its functining, including but nt limited t electins, cnstitutinal amendments, and ther mtins put frth in general bdy meetings Assciate Members f the GMU faculty and staff wh express interest and attend meetings and/r rganizatin functins regularly Hnrary Alumni r cmmunity members wh express interest and attend meetings and/r rganizatin functins regularly Revcatin f membership Shuld a member cnduct themselves in a way unbefitting a member f the RSO Lead Team r break rules r plicies as set frth by the Gerge Masn University Student Cde f Cnduct, their membership eligibility will be brught befre the Executive Bard. The Executive Bard will vte n the revcatin f the member s membership status and the vte must be unanimus fr the revcatin t take effect.

2 Article Fur OFFICERS PRESIDENT The line f successin f the Executive Officers f the RSO Lead Team shall be as fllws: President Vice President Treasurer Secretary Public Relatins Officer T hld an executive psitin, members must meet the fllwing qualificatins: Must have been a member f the rganizatin fr at least ne year prir t running fr an executive psitin Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA thrughut the elected term. Shuld an fficer fall belw the required GPA, they will autmatically be remved frm their ffice and the next fficer in the line f successin will take their place until the psitin is filled. See Article Six fr prcedures n electing members t vacated psitins. Abide by all university plicies as set fr by the Gerge Masn University Student Cde f Cnduct. The President f the RSO Lead Team must be able t perfrm the fllwing respnsibilities: Preside ver all Executive Bard and general bdy meetings Appint, with the apprval f the Executive Bard, additinal secndary psitins (e.g. Sub-cmmittee chairs) Meet regularly with the faculty/staff advisr Serve as a liaisn between the RSO Lead Team and Student Invlvement Oversee the implementatin f initiatives and delegate tasks Oversee all rganizatinal events Oversee the training f new members f the rganizatin Cmplete all necessary trainings and crrespnding quiz Manage access t 25Live and bking spaces Update rster n GetCnnected as ften as needed VICE PRESIDENT TREASURER The Vice President f the RSO Lead Team must be able t perfrm the fllwing respnsibilities: Preside ver all Executive Bard and general bdy meetings in the absence f the president Assist in appinting additinal secndary psitins (e.g. Sub-cmmittee chairs) Oversee all sub-cmmittee initiatives Reprt the state f the rganizatins and sub-cmmittees t the president Fulfill the respnsibilities f the president in the event that the president is absent, remved, r is n lnger able t perfrm the respnsibilities f the ffice The Treasurer f the RSO Lead Team must be able t perfrm the fllwing respnsibilities: Oversee all f the rganizatin s financial matters Cllect and manage all membership dues Apply fr funding frm the Student Funding Bard when necessary and in a timely manner Reprt t the president and the Executive Bard abut the state f the rganizatin s finances

3 SECRETARY Serve as the liaisn between the rganizatin and the Student Invlvement Budget Manager Cmplete all necessary trainings and crrespnding quiz Assist President in managing access t 25Live and bking spackes Fulfill the respnsibilities f the vice president in the event that the vice president is absent, remved, r is n lnger able t perfrm the respnsibilities f the ffice The Secretary f the RSO Lead Team must be able t perfrm the fllwing respnsibilities: Recrd meeting minutes fr all Executive Bard and general bdy meetings. Send all general bdy meeting minutes t all members within 24 hurs fllwing the meeting. Recrd member attendance at meetings and events. Fulfill the respnsibilities f the treasurer in the event that the treasurer is absent, remved, r is n lnger able t perfrm the respnsibilities f the ffice PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER The Public Relatins Officer f the RSO Lead Team must be able t perfrm the fllwing respnsibilities: Oversee the prmtinal and recruitment publicatins fr the rganizatin Manage all scial media utlets, including but nt limited t Twitter, Facebk, and the RSO website Ensure that all members are acting respnsibility n scial media utlets Fulfill the respnsibilities f the secretary in the event that the secretary is absent, remved, r is n lnger able t perfrm the respnsibilities f the ffice ADVISOR The primary advisr shall be a full time member f the faculty r staff at Gerge Masn University. Prcedures fr the selectin f an advisr: Candidate will be selected by the Executive Bard f the RSO Lead Team and must receive a majrity apprval by general bdy Candidate will receive a frmal request t serve as the advisr fr the rganizatin Upn receipt f acceptance frm the candidate, the candidate will immediately be instated as the advisr The advisr may ffer guidance and supprt fr the rganizatin, but MAY NOT have a vte in rganizatinal prceedings Shuld the advisr fail t perfrm the respnsibilities r abuse the privileges f their psitin, the advisr may be asked t resign frm the psitin. Reasns fr remval include: Using authrity t make decisins fr the rganizatin withut the apprval f the rganizatin Using authrity t verrule any decisins made by the rganizatin Making any attempt t slely gvern the rganizatin Failing t fulfill the cmmitments that were agreed upn when accepting the psitin f advisr Article Five ELECTIONS Electins will be held each year at the final meeting in March An pen call fr nminatins will be made at the electin meeting. Nminatins will be made frm the flr with the nminee either accepting r regretting the nminatin. N self-nminatins will be accepted.

4 Each nminee will be given 3 minutes t present their qualificatin t the general bdy. Members f the general bdy will vte via secret ballt, which will be cllected and cunted by the current President and Secretary. The nminee wh receives the mst vtes will be instated int the pen psitin. Shuld a tie ccur between nminees, they will each have a 1-minute pprtunity t nce again present their qualificatins. The vting prcess will be cnducted as stated abve. The newly elected fficer will immediately begin bserving the ut-ging fficer. Incming and ut-ging fficers will be expected t meet with their cunterpart at least 3 times t transitin. Article Six Article Seven Article Eight IMPEACHMENT OR RESIGNATION MEETINGS FINANCE Shuld an elected fficer fail t perfrm the respnsibilities r abuse the privileges f their elected psitin, the fficer shall be subject t impeachment and remval frm their ffice. Shuld members f the rganizatin have dcumented reasn that the impeachment f an fficer is necessary, the members shall draft a petitin fr the remval f the individual in questin which must be signed by a simple majrity f the rganizatin s general bdy and presented at the next scheduled general bdy meeting. Upn presentatin at the general bdy meeting, the petitin will be put t a vte and must pass with a ¾ vte f the general bdy t take effect. Shuld an fficer believe that they are unable t perfrm the utlined duties f their psitin, they shall write a frmal request t resign frm their elected r appinted psitin which shall be sent t the executive bard r highest ranking fficer fr review. Shuld the resignatin r impeachment f an elected fficer ccur, an emergency electin may take place. Nminatins may be made frm the flr, with nminees either accepting r regretting the nminatin. Members f the general bdy will vte via ballt, which will be cllected and cunted. The nminee wh receives the mst vtes will be instated int the vacated psitin. Meetings will ccur weekly n Wednesdays at 4pm. The President f the RSO Lead Team will preside ver the meeting. The Executive Bard will meet separately n a weekly basis n Sundays at 6pm. Members are expected t be present and n time at all meetings. If a member must be absent, a request fr excused absence must be submitted t the Secretary at least 24 hurs befre the meeting. All unapprved absences r requests fr absences received with less than 24 hurs ntice will be cnsidered unexcused. Shuld a member acquire 3 unexcused absences, their membership in the rganizatin will be put befre the Executive Bard fr review. If the Executive Bard deems it necessary, they may revke the membership f the member. The Executive Bard may allw the member t maintain their membership in the rganizatin. If the member acquires a 4 th unexcused absence, their membership will be autmatically revked. Qurum shall cnsist f tw-thirds f the general bdy plus ne fficer. Any vtes put befre a bdy that des meet qurum will be vid. Shuld a special meeting be necessary, the special meeting must be called and scheduled at least ne week befre the special meeting will take place. The latest editin f Rbert s Rules f Order shall be used fr parliamentary rules f rder. Each member must pay $5 in dues per semester. The dues will be cllected by the Treasurer f the RSO Lead Team The dues will be used t fund majr events, scial events, travel, and cnferences.

5 Article Nine AMENDMENTS Amendments t the Cnstitutin may be brught frth at the Cnstitutin review meeting which will take place every year at the general bdy meeting held the 1st week f March. A member f the general bdy may mve t amend a prtin f the Cnstitutin, which must be met with a secnd frm anther member f the general bdy. Shuld the mtin be secnded, a vice vte will be called. The amendment must pass with a simple majrity t be installed. After all amendments are made, a mtin t end first reading must be met with a secnd and a vice vte. The Cnstitutin will be brught frth fr review nce again at the next meeting n the 2 nd week f March and the final vte will take place. See Article Ten fr vting prcedures. Student Invlvement must review all amendments in the same manner as a cmpletely new cnstitutin. Article Ten RATIFICATION The Cnstitutin will be ratified each year at the meeting immediately fllwing the Cnstitutin review meeting, r the 2 nd week f March. T ratify the Cnstitutin, a member must mve t apprve the Cnstitutin. This mtin must be secnded in rder t be vted n by the general bdy. A rll call vte will be held and the mtin must pass with a ¾ vte f the membership t take effect. This cnstitutin shall becme effective upn apprval by a ¾ vte f the membership, and a Student Invlvement staff member. Cnstitutin Ratified n: April 26, 2014; April 27, 2015
