ACME WORK SHEET REMINDER The Acme work sheet is not only used to track ACME hours for those members who must meet their 12 hours. It is also used to track ACME hours for the ACME Recognition Event for all members. And just as important, recognition in the newsletter of your hard work and devotion during any recent ACME. 2 SECRETARY REPORTS Tim Rounds Minutes of the Board Meeting May 2, 2016 Roll Call: All present. A motion was made and passed to approve the minutes as published in the April 2016 newsletter for the Board Meeting of April REPORTS: Treasurer: There was a gain of $6, over revenue for the month of April. The following member resigned not in good standing; Kevin Pepkowski. Seven certified letters were mailed with no payments made to date. The Dock Master called seven members for late payment who paid. Secretary: 105 members to date have signed up for electronic delivery of the newsletter and electronic billing. Docks and Grounds: The club received a load of contaminated fuel the past week. The fuel tank, delivery system and the boat fuel systems that were fueled have been purged and cleaned. To date, the delivery company is taking full responsibility for the delivery. Elton thanked Del and Mike for reacting quickly to the contamination. The roof manufacturer has recommended a peel and stick roll for application to the roof to help with both the rain and aircraft noise. Purchase will be made after 3 bids. Interior sound absorption is going to be a step by step process of insulating different areas starting with the bar. There was further conversation of different sound absorption / insulating projects. Social: Dean thanked those who have also helped in the pit recently, Geno from Little Red's and Bob Anz and for wings. Vice Commodore: The report on the Capital Improvement project is unavailable at this time due to outstanding receipts and credits due. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Secretary: Reminder that the campaign still exists to sign up current members to electronic billing and newsletter. Commodore: Reminder that the Membership will be voting on the Distinguished Members at the next General Meeting. NEW BUSINESS: Docks and Grounds: 1. Proposed an amendment to the by-laws on how boat slips are assigned. The petition had the required number of signatures from the membership. The proposal was passed. EJ made a motion to repair the pavers around the Club House as necessary and the entire area on the back side of the Galley will be re-done. The motion was seconded and passed to expend $2, the project. The motion will be presented to the Membership at the next General Meeting for Membership approval. Social: 1. Friday night May 6th will be a Crawfish Boil. 2. Dean requested that he be allowed to gain control of the access to the room containing the audio equipment to prevent "Audio Wars". The discussion determined that He as Social had the right to control access to that equipment. Treasurer: Has noted that we now have 100% compliance with the insurance requirement for the bar tenders to be trained. A motion was made and passed to adjourn. 3 Roll Call: Treasurer had an excused absence, all other Board Members present. A motion was made and passed to approve the minutes as published in the April 2016 newsletter for the General Meeting of April Reports: Treasurer: There was a gain of $6, over expenditures for the month of April. The following members resigned in good standing: Michelle Barry, Richard Nalesnik, Frank Wiese and Michael Audette. Kevin Pepkowski resigned with a balance due and is not in good standing. Seven certified letters were sent and six have paid. Michael Mattsson is dropped as a member for non-payment. Dell made seven calls and all paid. Secretary: We are now at 105 members signed up and receiving electronic newsletters and billing. Social: Special thanks to Jerry Estep and his crew for putting on a fabulous Crawfish Boil last Friday night. Docks and Grounds: May 14th will be the last ACME of May. Lots of volunteers will be needed. Commodore: The bowling night out was held and Tim Rounds had the high score with 176. There will be another planned in the near future. Unfinished Business: Secretary: We continue to solicit the membership to change from paper delivery of the LSBC newsletter and monthly invoice. Please complete a Electronic Delivery Consent Option form from the Pilot House or follow the instructions from the first page of the newsletter for the electronic option. Forms will also be available at each General Meeting. Social: Dean turned over the floor to Danielle Landi and Ben DeCook who discussed this year's Family Day to be held May 21st. Start time to be 11:00 AM with ticket sales to start soon. The charity, Fish to Make a Difference, has put a display out with signups for volunteering and a donation jar. SPF long sleeve shirts and dinner tickets for Dad's and Doll's Dolphins Daze are now available for sale. Commodore: This year's candidates for Distinguished Member; Joe Nobles, Bob Samar and Fred Romanowicz were all unanimously voted and approved as Distinguished Members. Harriet Samar gave a gracious thank you speech on behalf of Bob Samar. New Business: Membership: There are 5 perspective new members for the tonight. 7 water slips are available. We are currently at 465 members. The following new members were voted on by the members and inducted into the club: Bill Christopher Pelosi, sponsored by Richie Pelosi; Alfredo Fernandez, sponsored by Javier Fernandez; Ronnie Kline, sponsored by Michael Goldberg; David Kays, sponsored by John Mennella; and Rich (last name and sponsor unavailable at print). Docks and Grounds: 1. Made a motion for the membership to approve $2, to fix the pavers around the clubhouse. The motion was seconded, discussed and approved. 2. A proposal to change the by-laws to be voted on by the membership next meeting is as follows: Currently in the LSBC By-Laws: on Page 3, Section 5. Dockage: Section (C) (1) Permanent: (A) Available permanent slips shall be posted in the bulletin board in the pilot house. (B) Requests for Permanent slips shall be in writing for specific available slips. After ten (10) days of posting, permanent slips shall be assigned to the members with the most seniority requesting the slips. PROPOSAL WILL CHANGE (A) AND (B) TO: (A) Available permanent slips shall be posted Friday in the Pilot House.

4 (B) Requests for permanent slips shall be in writing for specific available slips. Slips will be assigned on the following Thursday after 3PM. Permanent slips shall be assigned to the members with the most seniority requesting the slips. Monthly Fishing Tournament: First Place: Steve Folz with a 30 lb Dolphin Second Place: Joe Samar with a 19 lb Dolphin Third Place: Chad Howe with a 18 3/4 lb Dolphin 50/50: Won by Kevin O'Riordan Good of the Order: George Lewis shared that the Boys and Girls Club was looking for volunteers from the club to donate their time and boat to their fishing tournament for the kids. George will post flyers with the information around the Pilot and Club houses. Ben DeCook requested to know what was the status on the water that delivered in the fuel the previous week. EJ responded that Del and Mike did a stellar job in catching the problem early, identifying affected members, purging and cleaning not only the clubs tank but those of the affected members. Procedures have been put in place to prevent a reoccurrence. Rich Pelosi, who was affected by the fuel error, thanked Del for his quick action with the water in the fuel issue.
